Why am I getting more paradox charges than I’m supposed to?

Act 7.3.3 (6* shard path). I took howard the duck against havok on the node that says 90% reduced damage unless the attacker has more than 3 paradox charges.
The paradox charges are gained when a debuff is applied to the defender and lost when dexing their attacks.
Howards heavy attacks put 5 armour breaks on the opponent but i get around 10 charges. I have the video, but I dont know how to post that here.

On that path you gain Paradox when you get a buff, not the defender.

Wait I see the issue. You may have meant 7.3.4, which has the node you referenced. So if you meant that quest, I have no idea bc Howard’s armor breaks should not trigger paradox.

There have been some strange interactions with Paradox charges for a while. Usually, for the "gain a buff" one, when you dex and get a precision, you get a paradox. Then when you hit the opponent and lose the precision, you gain a second paradox even though you did the exact opposite of gain a buff.

Dex counts for two buffs. One when you dex. That's indefinite. One when you hit. That's timed. Keep that in mind

Have you experienced this with other champions as well or just Howard?
I am wondering if HtD's mechanic of debuffs expiring one at a time may have a weird interaction with Paradox charges.

Could be tested with Kitty Pryde's SP1, that also inflicts incinerates that expire one at a time.

In the dexterity Mastery, it states that "successfully avoiding an attack in this way grants a + {XXX} Critical Rating Buff that lingers for {X} seconds after your next hit".

This makes it sound as though you only get one buff and that the timing is just indefinite-until-your-next-hit + however many seconds.

@Squirrelguy yes the description could be cleaner.
Try EMP mod. When you dex an attack and hit the opponent they gain 2 charges.

In buffet, if you get a precion when the buffet is on cooldown but hit them when it is active again, it will be nullified. In the legendary side quest jubilee path you gain power when you dex as well as when you hit.
