Does prestige really matter?

I am not a big fan of prestige and I would prefer ranking whoever I want and is really good plus I play the game for sheer enjoyment. But why is prestige a big deal in higher tier alliances?

Better rewards. You shouldn’t care much about it unless you’re in a very high level alliance

The higher your prestige the higher points you will be able to aquire in alliance quest thus getting better rewards.

Higher prestige = higher AQ rewards at the top.

If you aren't into higher level alliance stuff then don't worry about it.

Yes and no. I am in an all Map 5 alliance of semi-retired players and we score in the top 1000 for AQ due to our prestige being high. If your alliance cares about AQ then building prestige is the best way to go.

For you personally, if you want to rank who you love (which I agree with) make sure you’re in an alliance that doesn’t push prestige as a requirement or the game gets pretty unfun.

Could someone explain how this works? How could a higher Prestige leads to more Points in AQ? For every Fight i get a constant Number of Points. Never saw, that these Points varied beacuse of using different Champs. So how does this work?

It doesnt matter what champs you use. It depends on the 5 highest champs you have (in prestige) and their sig levels.
More alliance prestige, higher points in AQ.

For the 95% off the community it's not necessary to upgrade only top Prestige champs.
But it's necessary to invest on the champs you use and take them higher sigs for prestige.
You don't have to upgrade top prestige champs if you are not in say top 250.
You just need to cross prestige thresholds to be eligible to join your alliance. For example, 10k 11k, 12k, 12.5k, 13k+. My alliance requires 12.5k.
Upgrading champs you want to upgrade will lead you to reach these thresholds regardless of top prestige champions.

I have 12.6k prestige and I'm in a top 150 AQ alliance. There are far many players with far more prestige than me. I can't compete with p2w, but I'm satisfied with my account and progression. My alliance have dropped from top 150 by some places after gifting event.
My only prestige champ is doom. I have kept him at Sig 160 and am not going to put more SIG's on him due to future dupes, SIG's are still rare.
I used SIG's on HB, and AA for their use, they both are in my top 5, but they are not prestige champs by a long shot, rather they belong in the bottom of prestige champions. Building prestige is slow process. Currently I own 250+ SIG's (generics + classes) saved for the champs who needs sigs more than prestige champs.

Lets take a more generic example of 5* champions, if your alliance wants members to have 10k prestige, it doesn't mean you have to upgrade exclusive top champions. Any 5 5* champs you take to sig 200, you automatically will cross 10k threshold.
And that's all you really need at that stage.
Prestige comes with time.
If you want to join an alliance who require higher prestige threshold, you need to do what is required to get there. Because alliances like to stay in their AQ rank bracket and needs members with certain prestige criteria.

This is just basic idea that why prestige matters and exclusive top prestige champions do not.

P.S. I have lost the privilege to call myself 100% f2p as I have invested a total of 5$ on my account.

Let's assume,
Average Prestige of alliance A: 8600
Average Prestige of alliance B: 9800

They both play map5, 5 days.
So they both get Map5 points multiplier for their entire AQ.
(I don't know how this points multiplier works.)

So, simply the alliance with higher prestige, alliance B, will get more points from multiplier and thus higher rank.

Prestige is pushed heavily in map 8 alliances since top 45 provides more r4 materials in a few weeks than a season in top 10 masters

Every alliance has a prestige, which is the average prestige of all the players. When AQ starts, this alliance-wide prestige is used to calculate the starting difficulty of the enemies on the map on day 1. As the week progresses, whether you complete the maps or not your alliance gets temporary bonuses to its prestige (for the purposes of AQ: nowhere else). So as long as you keep completing AQ successfully, your (AQ) prestige goes up, and that's why the enemies get harder, and those harder enemies score more points on successive days.

Your personal prestige affects your alliance's prestige which affects the starting difficulty of AQ for your alliance for that week, which ultimately affects the amount of points you score in that week. For most alliances this doesn't matter *too* much, because we get AQ rewards in two ways: milestones and rank rewards. Increasing your prestige will increase both, but probably not by much. You probably won't push your alliance up an entire milestone, and you aren't likely to push your alliance into a higher AQ bracket. You would probably need to jump hundreds of ranks to do that. It would take a coordinated sustained effort by everyone in your alliance to gain even one more milestone reward or one higher bracket. It probably isn't worth it.

But at the very top, every point potentially matters. Moving up 700 places from rank 5685 to 4985 means nothing (you're in the same bracket). But moving up from rank 47 to 45 is significant (you start earning R4 materials). One person's prestige can mean the difference between rank 21 and rank 20, which have different rewards.

When people say prestige doesn't matter in the lower tiers, that's what they mean. An alliance with 14000 prestige is going to be earning way more rewards than an alliance with 8000 prestige, even if both just run Map 5 every day. The prestige does matter in that sense. But if you're in an alliance withy 9000 prestige and doing Map 5, the benefit if *you* try to focus on prestige to try to pull the entire alliance upward will almost certainly not be worth it, and even if the entire alliance focused on prestige, it would take enormous effort to notice any benefit at those lower tiers. To use prestige alone to move you up from 5700 to 4900 (which would increase your bracket upward by one) would take enormous relative effort. For 50 more glory and some shards. Doing that naturally over time, sure, it is nice to have. But pushing constantly to get that incremental rewards is not generally a good idea.

One more thing: top tier prestige alliances are generally full of players who otherwise have very stacked accounts. They aren't sacrificing much to rank for prestige (except fun, which is ultimately their choice). A middle tier player ranking for prestige doesn't have that stacked account usually, and thus they are sacrificing not just fun, but also potentially crippling their roster by ranking high prestige champs over champs that will help them complete content. In that situation, ranking for prestige is completely nonsensical. The gain in AQ rewards is almost certainly not going to be worth the cost in hampering your account growth everywhere else.

I don't know what sig is your AA but if it is above 30 than you are wasting your sig stones as he doesn't need more. Several people have done deep analysis about it. You can check on youtube or google.

I duped AA and gave him 20 sigs 5-6 months ago. And he was in my top prestige, Since then he got duped one more time, now he is sitting at Sig 60.

Do you care about being in an alliance that ranks well in AQ? If the answer is yes, then yes it matters a lot. If the answer is no, then no it doesn't matter at all.
