Power Struggle doesn't drain your power but it removes instead, that's why abilities that prevent or reduce power drain don't work against that node. The problem is in the text saying incorrectly "power drain" when it shouldn't, but it was also programmed when there wasn't that much of a distintion between terms and relative effects ^_^

even if it is in his kit.. probably the Act7 nodes supercede his ability.. im just guessing since I'm not even at that content yet.. 😕 🙃

This shouldn’t be the case unless it’s specified in the node description. For eg., coolant leak. If nodes supersede champ abilities, then how should one counter the node?

Yes, but those are separate abilities. King Groot has immunity to Power Drain and Burn but not Steal. Power Steal is not the same as Power Drain.
