Why do you think Kabam does not buff the classic and most main stream characters?

I’m talking about champs like Dr. Strange, OG Hulk, OG Thor, OG Spider-Man, OG Cap, Doc Oct, Green goblin, Ant-man, Deadpool,

I mean even newer fan favorites like Loki, Groot, Starlord, Drax, Rocket?

I know they have buffed a lot this past year and some of them being very popular characters. But it seems like they were avoiding the old school biggest names and some newer household names that have come up from the MCU?

Not complaining just sitting on lunch break and had the thought popped in my head didn’t know if there was any logic behind it or real reasoning?

For the record, Doc Oc, Deadpool, Thor, and Starlord don't even need an upgrade. Are they really flashy? Probably not but they are all fairly solid characters.

They haven't gotten to update as many characters as they would have liked, nor have they really described their process in much depth for most of the choices. To be fair, they have not mainly done complete overhauls which might be needed in most of the above cases, but they have done a lot of numbers tweaks an small ability changes to bump champions who have decent abilities to make them more competitive.

It is possible that since most of those champs are heavily featured in beginner content that they don't want too complicate things too much for people just getting into the game. New players need simple to understand characters that teach them the game such as: Hulk is strong. Hulk Smash. Fury increases attack, and Hulk has strong furies. Makes sense. It would be tough to drop Platinumpool and his card system, or the four horsemen of Apoc onto entry level players. They start with playing and fighting champs like Wolvie and Spidey. You can see such decisions by Kabam in that they haven't updated characters in LOL or ROL, and that 1* Colossus still has his older and simpler abilities. Not saying this is why they haven't updated all of these champs but it makes sense why they generally steer away.

Appreciate the response it was actually really insightful. A lot of that makes sense really was just a random thought that I decided to post. Figured there had to be some kind of decent reasoning but a lot of this makes sense.

A handful Of them just need a little bit of tweaks or updated numbers maybe an added utility. But you’re right some of them would need a complete overhaul they haven’t done many of those and I didn’t even think about a couple of the classics being used a ton in early content.

I’ve always wondered how much Marvel has to be involved before they release a character. Just my opinion and I’m sure they have decent reasoning but I would’ve thought the Disney+ shows would’ve been a great time to buff or tweak some of the older champions that were involved with the shows. I know they did falcon but I’m not sure if that was because of the show or not.

Some of the champs just need to have their pre-12.0 nerf undone to bring them into current alignment with the game.

Drax just needs to have his pre-frame rate fix restored so he no longer slides backwards from auto evaders, and he would be significantly more useful then he is now.

The rest, maybe one day, in the distant future, they will receive the buff they deserve, but these old champs don't sell crystals, and the poor feedback which came from some of the buffs have them working on a new buff program...

Main stream like popular characters you would see outside of comics. Like in kids cartoons, TV shows MCU movies. Characters when you say the name you don’t have to explain to somebody where they’re from. I character like spider Gwen three years ago really wasn’t main stream but now I think you would consider her main stream figuring she’s in kids cartoons you walk down a toy aisle in Walmart and you see her everywhere. That’s my definition of main stream.

These chatacters need a full revamp and that takes a lot of time. It's faster and easier to buff champs w okay kit

They did update og caps animations and they said they had plans for more. So maybe more potential buffs to these characters soon?
