If you do this in a big/difficult piece of content, you can log a ticket and as long as you don’t start a new quest they will actually put you back where you were.

Obviously not really applicable for something like MEQ but they put my mate back to where he was in Gauntlet and they did the same to me when I accidentally exited out of Miike’s Revenge just before the Collector.

Same thing happened to me too. Apart from the frustrating fact that SQ rewards are 90% in last week , this was another irritating fact . Person needs to really learn some good design making .
This is similar to like taking a wrong turn in the road and driving 10 kms to take a U turn cuz there's no going back.

I ended up having to do this quest 9 times, because i was multitasking and didn’t realize the teleporting portals themselves had separate paths cause usually its more clear , but the map design for this quest in particular was such that you had to give it your full attention

I totally support this. If you can do it in AQ then there is no reason not to implement in story quests.
