Armor Break, what is it?

I've been playing this game for a year or two. I still don't understand armor break. What does it do? Is it just for props? Can it improve anything? All i know is that it removes the current armor buff. Please anyone explain this concept.

A year or two and you are still having problems with this? Read the Sig ability sections that'll go a long way for you. Or just do this, quit the main account and start a new account. Seems to me you need to start over...

Each champ has a stat called base armor which reduces incoming damage. The amount of armor (or damage reduction) a champ has during the fight can also be increased by armor up buffs. What armor break does is that it removes a portion (or the full amount) this armor depending on it's strength and increases the amount of damage the champ takes. If the amount of armor "broken" is greater than the amount of armor a champ has at that time, the armor stat goes to negative. Testing suggests the damage increases linearly with armor break when armor is negative i.e. for X amount of armor break applied when armor reaches 0, damage output increases by Y.
