Knull against armor break immunity

So I took the explosive personality path in 7.4.3. So obviously they have the above node, as well as armor break immunity. I used knull against the first fight, and when I inflicted the living abyss debuffs cyclops kept his armor ups. Is this working ad intended? The wording on living abyss says it "removes 1 armor up" the way I read that is its not an armor break. Much like nullify would work as well. Of course this path has mystic barrier, so nullify isn't the most dependable. Either way, some input would be appreciated. Thanks.
