Omega Red in 2022

Is there a reason Omega Red isn’t as highly regarded as he once was? Is it because the mutant class is so stacked? I’m debating putting a 6* AG on him instead of Archangel because I already have a 5* Archangel fully maxed. Thoughts?

Its because he needs to be sig 200 to be good easier to take up the 5 star... go with 6 star archangel he only needs awakening sigs dont matter much

I use my r3 in AW all the time.

You need to run damage masteries to maximize his damage, and you want max sig as well, so that could be a disincentive for players.

I might get lot of disagrees or lots of agress ...but i honestly believe he is the most overrated champ in the entire game.

Awakening , Max sig , suicides ...all this just for 1 champ and even after doing that all he gets used mostly is for biohazard lanes only . Damage isn't that good ..decent DOT , keeps getting bugged from time to time (well not his fault ) . I have my r5 at sig 200 and hardly gets used at all .

1 of my mate took Omega as his first r4 and now he is wondering what to do with him lmfao.

You don't use him properly then. I use him basically every AW and a tremendous amount in all Quests. He does insane damage at r3 sig 200. Heals from bleed, immune to poison, tentacle attacks can bypass damage like thorns & reverb, opponents can't shrug off debuffs once he has 10 spores, etc. He has as many uses as just about any champ. The only thing he can't fight are robots.

I think he's turned into more of a guilty pleasure champ since he requires sig 200 and his prestige is extremely low. It's hard for people to justify that level of resource investment when they have other champs available that can get the job done.

For me I have more use out of AA than OR. I would use it on AA.

I have an r3 sig 200 and I use him everyday, almost everywhere. He’s my number 1 MVP in AW, I use him all the time in questing and he always finds a spot on my team. He’s incredibly versatile, has a super unique damage source and a bunch of great utility. He’s also very sustainable.

The one catch is he really needs damage masteries to get the most out of him. But lucky for me, I run them all the time, and he’s absolutely fantastic. I think he’s still very relevant and a very dominant mutant champ. Maybe not the top champ anymore with kitty Pryde and such but omega is still among the top mutants for me.

Not many 6* sig stones available for the most part currently in game. That, on top of the low prestige, are the main reasons folks have devalued him. If you have your prestige in order and have the sig stones, he's still a beyond god tier champ. Nothing changed on that end ever.

Sorry to ask but... I have all the necessary items to take him to r3 & almost sig 200, sig 183 to be exact.. After seeing some 7.3 & 7.4 content (haven't started those yet), would he really be useful on more paths than not? Could care less about prestige though it would take every 6* stone that I have. Appreciate any info

Short answer, Yes. Long answer, Act 7 is for expansive rosters. If you're going in it of the mind that you'll rely on a few champs to explore it, you're better served ranking some more champs along with OR. There is no catch all champ for those bits of content.

Dont forget reliance on sabretooth. Most that still run him use him in war and they bring sabre as well. He’s usable without but its just really slow and impractical, for him to even be considered in the same conversations as mags/AA/apoc he needs suicides, max sig, sabretooth etc.

Just doesnt make sense to me, why would I run omega and sabre when I can run cable and apoc? I can horseman cable and deal with bleed nodes and cable has just as long of a reach on his heavy, and apoc can already handle purification/tenacity that omega does.

Sorry omega fans, but he’s falling out of the meta. I say this and I used a mutant gem and 155 generics on him. BIGGEST MISTAKE I’ve made in my mcoc career.

AA over omega red, 100% if you don't want to waist mutant sig stones on a 6 star omega red, cause 6 star sig stones are hard to get, events, or pay to win or get lucky by pulling omega red a lot, which is a feet to itself. Think abt that

Man Omega Red all Day. I’ve seen people on here mention there not a lot of 6* stone yet I see a good number of players in game with 200 sig 6*’s. If you grind cav SQ that’s 10 a mon. You might get lucky and get some mutant class. Act 7 has 6* stones of your TB. I mean omega is is definitely worthy of the awakening gem. I personally am not the biggest fan of AA either lol
