Does King Groot need to be awakened to be good?

I just got myself a 6 star King Groot, and I heard that his recent buff made him fantastic. But after looking at his awakened ability, I feel like without it I'm missing out on a huge amount of damage and regen. Is he still any good without that awakened ability?

    It's quite useful and beneficial, and more sigs the better. I've got a 5* KG awakened and close to sig 120, will eventually get him to sig 200. I've also got a 6* KG unawakened, who will sit at Rank 1 for a long time. Just my personal view, unawakened I'd put him around middle of the pack for Cosmic champs, decent but not great.

    To be good? No he's good unawakened. Permanent armor breaks has many uses like Diss Track or vs KM or Emma, Massive Poison damage, robot counter, sp3 has good regen, immune to power burn and drain, super high health still.

    To be amazing? Yes he needs his sig.

    Got the 6 star r3 at sig 200 and the 5 star R5 at sig 200.

    One thing I want to point out is KG is 100% a champ you want at sig 200 or close to.

    There is a MASSIVE difference between sig 20, 100 and 200 KG and I was able to test this with both the 5 and 6 star.
