Current war ranking / winning a war places you lower??

Really curious question here. We started the season mid P3 rank. We are now at sitting at spot 199. How does it work when we are winning wars and still drop spots? How does an alliance progress in war if your wins do not carry you higher into the tier?

To clarify, that was where we were ranking when standings went live after the first week.

    We are currently ranked 199.

    Initial placement was P3 18X

    We are now 7-3

Last war we started at 195. Won with 21 deaths

And are now 199 in p3

This has been happening more than once , doesn’t seem to make much sense at all.

You would think with a 7-3 record we’d have a net positive move in the standing. But it’s not the case.

If you battling in the top of plat 3 then you are likely right around the Tier 2/Tier 3 cutoff. If you are tier 3 then a win gets you less points than a loss in tier 2. The only way to progress from there is to get to tier 2 and win some wars, then you will push up into plat 2 and even plat 1.

Season placement is determined by how many points you can put up.

How many points you put up is determined by your war rating and number of battle groups you run.

If you are falling with a positive record you are likely running less than 3 battle groups while others in your tier are running 3.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like Other teams are scoring more rank points than you by beating higher ranked opponents. And if they only trailed you By a few points to begin with. Then their win raises there score above yours and even though you win, you drop spots.

We always run 3 bg’s for war

And what tier are you and how much have you gone up/down since the oldest recorded war under history in the war tab
We went from 2403 to 2546. But only tier 4.

Its pretty hard to land P3 with Tier-4 multiplier.
Youll need to win substantial amount of wars to reach there. It's a fact.

    Let's say,
You win 8-4 in Tier-4, You'll be at bottom of P3 or at the top of P4.
While an alliance doing T3 will land P3 even after taking loss with 5-7.

Rankings solely depends on the points accumulated with your Tier multiplier.

The positive thing about your winning streak is that your tier close to upgrade from 4 to 3 in upcoming wars, provided you win.
And when you start winning at T3, you'll safely land in middle of P3. And a stable P3 for upcoming seasons.

This is an accurate example of, when people say, climbing the ladder.

Would like to add a bit.

Btw, we don't get points when opponent dies.
They lose points, they could've gained with the attack bonus but they couldn't.

Even with being a lower multiplier. How are you supposed to climb any ranks or ladders If you win and move down the ranks. Pretty disappointing really, we put in the work and come out with a lower season rank after winning a war.

Simple, you move up tiers and in turn earn more points and move up ranks.

Keep increasing your war rating, moving onto next tiers and winning there and the rest will follow.

Aw placement :- Total score put up
    Aw Score :- Tier dependent

Following is just an example, it is not accurate or not represent the Aw fairly. Just trying to make you understand.
Lets say each war gives you 5000 point
    Your tier is your multiplier
    T4=2x
    T3=3x
So if you are in T4 your score will be 10,000 by each war meanwhile T3 will yield 15,000. So even winning you will stay behind the ally who scores in T3 bracket meanwhile you are in T4.

So in short, keep winning. You will get to Tier upgrade and you will CLIMB THE LADDER OF TIER which ultimately will result in higher score due to Bracket multiplier.

in simple terms winning isnt giving you the max amount of score, if your alliance wins wars with a score of lets say 190,000(meaning attack bonus is set to give that score including failed attacks and such) and then other alliances scores 190,001, then another ally scores 190,002 ect... see where im going with this. basically points determines placement not simple wins or loses.

Many factors other than just wins, attack bonus diversity battle groups etc, and most importantly tier is how points are calculated.

    Currently we are 10-0 :)

Press the 'i' beside your tier in war match screen, and you'll know where you are missing in multiplier.

    T4- points multiplier x4.5
    T3- points multiplier x6

War rating in T4: top 2-3%
War rating in T3: top 0.51-1%

Get to T3 by crossing the war rating required and enjoy the higher points multiplier.
Alliances above yours are playing higher harder maps so they are getting more points.
