Because of the calander at the end I will have enough for a featured 5 star crystal, is it worth it or should I get a normal one and save 5000 shards?

Really depends on how many 5* you have now I guess and if there is a champ you really want in the featured pool. I usually just go for the basic crystal. Most of the time with my luck I pull garbage from the featured anyway.
