I personally like Ibom more bcoz of his sustainability, but he'll remain sustainable even at R3
Torch is quite fragile as he has low healthpool & block proficiency....so a little extra stat boost can be quite helpful for him

I still use my 5-star Torch when my 6-star is in War. I can’t say I do the same with iBomb. BUT iBomb is a different breed. I can still do well with him against poison-immune champs if I have to. Torch is very average for me if the champ is incinerate-immune. And the AI usually knows to wait out a special sting if I manage to get off a sp3 with Torch against immune champs.

I don’t think torch needs to be R4 as much as other champs will benefit.

Would it be nice? Sure, but as a 3rd or 4th science R4. At the moment, do you really want to do 1 of 3 or 4 rank ups just so you can finish fights in 27 seconds instead of 30? The extra health is nice, but every champ gets that.

At the point in the fight where an extra 15% (or whatever Rank 3 to 4 is) damage would make the difference, with torch’s scaling damage with smoulder it’ll probably only be another few hits to complete the match.

Someone like Ibom, Negative or Spidey who doesn’t have ramping damage like that it could be the difference between one more Acid burn, one more Sp2 degen or Sp2 burst, which is more likely to be the difference in a fight that Torch doing a few extra hits.

I agree with most if not all of this. If I were any good with Spider-Man 2099 or Mr Negative I’d take them to rank 3. I can tell there’s potential with them, but I’m still practicing with them pretty unsuccessfully. I have been iBomb before the poll and I think that as much as I enjoy using Human Torch, I’ll still enjoy him at rank 3 instead of 4.
