Kitty awakening

I just pulled a Kitty Pryde and plan on learning and using her right away. I have one generic 6* gem left. Is she worth the generic gem without hesitation? I've used my other two gems on Herc and AA as they were the two I wanted awakened the most. The only champs that I'm currently chasing (and convinced I'll never get) are Nick who is arguably the best option for an awakening gem, and Doom who doesn't really need it, but is nice and bumps his prestige way up. Am I overthinking this with Kitty? Should I use the gem and not look back?

Definitely. AGs seem to be coming slightly more frequently now and you never know when you will get Nick. Kitty is well worth it.

Thanks for the replies. That's pretty much the way I was leaning. Does she have an ideal sig level? I've been dumping all of my mutatnt stones into AA as I've gotten them, so I have none to throw at Kitty.

As soon as you use the gem on kitty, you’ll pull nick, I guarantee it

you’ll be fine at sig 1 but every other additional sig helps

she doesn’t take damage while phased the second she becomes awakened, but every sig gives her a high combat power rate while she’s struck while phased

You get a lot of benefit just with 1. The next ‘sweet spot’ is 74, which gives you about 50% of the rest of the benefits for less than half the investment. So, pretty much 1, or 74, or 200. Mine is at 74.

Man, I wish 6* stones were a lot easier to come by.

I just awakened my Kitty with a gem. The first AQ I took her into, I accidentally pushed a defender to their SP3. The horror!

Except...I just phased through it all. If she hadn't been awakened, I would have still taken 20% damage and that would probably have wiped me out since I was already at low health.

You get other benefits from the sig such as a chance to retrigger incinerates as well as increased power gain when struck while phased, but that initial +20% damage reduction was the main draw for me. It just allows you to phase damage in a whole other way than you could otherwise.

That phase with no damage is so good. I'm exploring Act 6 and she does really well against 6.3 NF boss.

Wow, that was clean. Yeah, I love that aspect of her kit. Initially I just thought of the damage reduction as something that made her insanely sustainable with suicides, and for that it doesn't really matter if it's at 80 or 100%, but the full 100% has so many uses outside of suicide sustainability.

Well, I'm back with one hell of an update!!! I just finished my initial completion of 7.4 and opened my rewards. The regular 6* crystals brought me more sigs into my Nimrod, and a new Dragonman, and the nexus brought me none other than NIck Fury! I was figuring there was no way I'd be lucky enough to get a mutant or skill ag out of that crystal, but lo and behold........I pulled a skill and put it right into Nick, and then turned around and awakened Kitty! What a good day!
