How good is uncollected?

I know that when you reach uncollected you unlock more crystals & gamemodes, and that some crystals become cheaper and better.

But does it really boost your game progression by a lot? If so, how?

    It unlocks uncollected event quest difficulty which provides 5* (10,000) and 6* (4,800) shards.
