Nullify Immune Cosmic champions

I've noticed that 2/3 of the cosmic champions released this year have some type of nullify immunity. I know gaining buffs is not officially a rule of cosmic champs (e.g knull), but that's pretty much what they do to get their damage. So why are kabam pushing nullify immunity into cosmic champs when mystics (class advantage) play a big part in nullifying buffs? I know part of it is to sell new mystic champs like rintrah and wiccan that inflict neutralize instead. It makes sense to science champs like Mr. N and Overseer because they are class advantage to mystics. Feels like they are negating one of the core abilities many mystic champs have. On the other hand, it does help players offensively when using these nullify immune champs, but feels lazy design to just slap nullify immunity to cosmic champs when the class that does nullify is the class that is suppose to have an advantage on cosmic champs. At least make it a % chance for nullify to fail or this ability fails when fighting against mystics. The same way you can't apply slow to a class disadvantage fight. Anyways, this was just an annoyance I had. I don't expect it to change, but would love to hear what other players think about this topic.

It’s similar to how mutants started to punish skill champs shrugging off debuffs and Kabam introduced cleanse mechanics. The game is constantly changing and there will always be counters to counters. This can also work both ways, there were so few counters to 6.1.6 Buffed up Symbiote Supreme initially, now there are multiple science and now cosmic counters too.

I could be wrong, but I think so far cleanse skill champs released are jabari and shangchi. With jabari there is a cool down and shanchi cleanse has almost no bearing in defense and also has a limit. But these cosmic champs straight up have it always. And, I have no problem other classes having certain abilities, like omega sentinel, civil warrior have nullify ability. But with them, cosmic champs can still armor break. With this nullify immunity, it seems like old mystics have no work around.

Reason why I didn't rank up 6* Symbiote Supreme.. I find his sole utility stagger (ok)/ nullify (not ok) is slowly becoming obsolete.. neutralize is sort of better.

That's a lot of agrees on this post.. am I the only one here that likes these changes we see in the game? Some sort of nullify immunity has been around since Angela in the Cosmic class, it was even in her sig ability pre-buff. We have champs like her and Galan, and we have champs that counteract those abilities like Claire, Tigra, Rintrah.

A similar thing has already happened in the Mutant class. Passive prowess started to become a problematic ability in Mutant defenders like Toad and Sauron but we also have champs to counter that like Nimrod, WM, and OS.

Personally I think the game would become boring if it wasn't allowed to branch outside of the classic archetypes. Sure part of the changes might be to initially sell the new counters but I like when the we're introduced to new problems and solutions.

All those examples you give are not things that make those champions have 100% up time with those abilities. Those passive prowess? They fall off after specials. Angela's nullify immunity? Depends on high number of buffs. So I agree with you about shaking things up, but they should just make newer champs better at dealing with it. Not just completely negate what old champs are doing.

I could have rank2 Symbiote Supreme (or other useful champions) but I chose a champion I find fun yet annoying (glancing better than Capt Beardo) I have awaken Capt Beardo yet I pick Antman (who is getting rework, better glancing, more poison and more debuffs courtesy of pym particles).. fingers crossed for good buff..
Note: I already have Claire Voyant.. Tigra is 5* only thou.. sad no 5* or 6* Rintrah.

I think it's very fitting that champions like angela and galan have nullify immunity because they are just powerhouses. I honestly wish that odin and knull had nullify immunity too, it just fits the character. There are ways other than nullify to prevent buffs and usually the buffs that these champions have arent very detrimental to the attacker, or can be waited out.

ngl i think it is fairly nonsense to have multiple nullify immune cosmics. we have 2 mystics who can really deal with it. and 2-3 others that dont nullify but punish the number of buffs. Not a fan of this nullify immune cosmic trend.

There needs to be varieties in the game so new champions will new abilities can be released plus counters also can be released. For Eg: At first when Domino was released we all have PTSD fighting her the first time and many other times with only counters being Archangel and Gladiator Hulk. Now we have some solid counters to her like Mysterio, Guardian, Nimrod, Omega Sentinel and some more. As it's said variety is the spice of life.

So, yeah, they can go ahead and pile on 20+ buffs and nullify immunity if they want. It serves to make Ronan even more beyond god tier when beating down cosmics.

If you give stagger plus nullify immunity then Doom becomes much less effective
