Grandmaster attempt #3

Apparently after lot of practice I managed to bring him down to the 3rd phase itemless. But Grandmaster is really a powerful boss worthy to be called the Act 6 final boss. The third phase was something I have yet to get used to and AI catches me off guard whenever in between challenges he launches his specials and then funny enough i got clipped a lot. I am low on items and units so need to grind hard. How many units should I grind for this guy? After constant practice I am now skilled enough to get past the first 2 phases but the third phase is merciless and Grandmaster wont give any quarter.

I mean, if you got him down to the third phase itemless, the rest shouldn’t be more than a team revive or three.

I died @Squirrelguy I got him to 20% with a team revive but that inverted control kicked in and I'm very bad at it except prof X helped a bit. In between challenges he keeps launching his specials and I end up getting tokens of blunder he seems a lot quicker in this phase. 🤣🤣🤣 How many challenges should I do in the 3rd phase to get him to wounded phase?

Honestly, in that phase, whenever he gets to a bar of power, just immediately dash back and try to bait it, it’ll pause the timer on the challenges and that’ll get you more good tokens. I think it’s like 5 challenges in that phase, but it’s been a while since I’ve done the GM fight. It’ll say on his description. Another good tip I’ve gotten is that when you get close to his inverted controls phase, just focus on that. If you get a single token of blunder, that won’t kill you, but if you mess up the transition to inverted controls, the GM will. It’s also easy during that phase to just dash back and idle and/or hit into his block just to occupy time where you don’t have to actually dex his attacks .

Thanks @Squirrelguy I didn't know that the challenges get paused when GM throws a special and yes I will do everything possible to not throw him to his sp2

IMO, 3rd phase can be well handled by playing defensively. Just keep an eye on his power meter and don't think about challenges, you may miss one or two but that's ok, bait his specials, hit his block dash back and you should be okay.
