I remember saying/hearing this around R3s too. I worry that Battlegrounds may cause some acceleration here, since every bit of advantage will matter there. But this does make it sound like there are concrete plans for whatever comes after 6* R5 champs, or else we wouldn’t be hustling towards this.

You can’t look at it that way, since story mode was changed after act 6 there isn’t technically content where you need 6* at all

Don't want to grind to get character's all over again...Pretty should Mike acknowledged such a thing at one point.

Maybe the idea is once you are at 6 star rank5 you unlocked the ability for relics?

But that won’t change for a long time, we know act 8 will be like act 7, and that won’t end for what, 2 years? That would mean we would be at rank 4 6* for at least 3 years. It’s not reasonable

They could always do a switch up halfway through act8 in terms of design. It's unlikely but possible

He never commented either for or against them. He said whatever they introduced, either 7*s or Relics, we would always have something to work towards.

I never understood this logic of “creating content for the highest tier rank”. People typically rank up the best champions anyway, how is creating content for them going to differ in terms of outcome? If content was created for them as r3 6*s, how different would new content be if they’re r4?

You're right but now more the ever do I think that ship will return. Compared to when act6 first came out the champions we have at our disposal today are insane not only in damage but the amount of utility and ground they cover. As well players will have act1-7 and v1-8 compared to when act6 was released which was act1-5 and v1-4. I just think it's time for that change.

This. A fraction of one T6CC isn't going to get you a 6* R5.
But once the floodgate opens. It may start with a few shards but their is the rest of act 8 and then the cyber deals right around the corner.

If they are starting to let out the t6cc shards I can see that being their money maker on the cyber weekend deals

It's actually not that soon, compared to the history of 5*s.

Everything depends of what Kabam's schedule is. We can easily have the first r5 after Christmas. One cat with BG/EQ rewards for three months, one with cyber weekend deals, (or maybe two), and one through shards from the new, shiny X-mas crystals.

I find it funny how people said we wouldn't get 7*s for multiple years and we'll most likely have R5 7*s in 2-3 months.
