Beast - How good is he?

RotmgmoddyRotmgmoddy Member Posts: 916 ★★★
So, I just so happen to dupe my 4* Beast...after getting a 5* Beast, what luck there.

Anyway, despite my initial reaction of "Ugh I got a terrible champion", I decided to test him out as a 4*, R1 duped. Obviously "terrible" was somewhat of an understatement of him, because he wasn't actually that bad if played properly. I especially loved his acrobatic mode and when the sig activates successfully, as it completely seals off power gain for the opponent.

So here's the question, do you think he is worthy of being ranked up to 5? Can he be a good counter to strong power gain champions like Mordo and Hyperion? Is he someone who I can bring to harder content and he would be useful there?

congrats on your pull, bcos he is definitely not bad a champ to use
Beast is one of the under-appreciated champ
Although he is not god-tier, he is definitely above average

I have a 4* beast myself, which is already @ R3 (I bring all my 4* to R3 for arena purposes)
however, due to resource limitation, I'll not rank him to R4, until I have done that with my other more important mutant champs

For my case, in MUTANT class, assuming all 4*, and assuming all dupped, these will be my priority order:

    1) Wolverine
    2) X-23
    3) Iceman
    4) Archangel
    5) Storm
    6) Cable
    7) Psylocke
    8) Beast <--- probably 8th place in my mutant priority list

However, different ppl may have diff preferrence, as they might be more used to some champs, or have their intended usage in a specific situation.

Don't think he is a good counter to strong power gain champions like Mordo and Hyperion

Hood's stagger is a much better way to stop power gain of Mordo and Hyperior, not to mention many other "power-control" champs like Vision, Magik, etc. To add on that, some champ who has 2 strike attack, like say Drax is better to counter Mordo without being affected by Mordo's specific "trick"

When duped, he's better used in long haul fights once you switch to acrobatic and can spam his regen block combo. Between the reduced power gain for enemies and the regen for himself, he can really hang in there a while.

Beast is a heavily underrated champion.

He doesn't prevent power gain (Mordo, Hyperion) but can prevent them from gaining power while he attacks them.

His regen is better than Wolverines regular (non-crit) and X-23 and can be a very potent champion if used correctly.

    I would R4 a 5* Duped.

I say Beast's good because he has good Regen as well as decent Stun and great Critical. Check this link out!

The only good thing about beast is the chain combo synergy that you can double up since you have both 4 and 5 star versions. Otherwise he is a low damage champ. Even Spider Gwen or she-hulk is better than him.

The best power gain counters for these 2 champs are:

    Hyperion needs magik or SW
    Mordo needs GR or AA

Looks like a general mix of neutral and positive comments! Was sort of expecting a lot of negatives saying he really is bad, but I guess it is true that he is underrated.

I'll rank him up to 4 to test him out a bit better, and if all goes well, maybe I'll R5 him and SIM because their synergy bonus is quite decent too.

The problem is he is too complicated/bugged to use well

l like my beast mine is 4/40 sig 99 bleed resistant good at combo's and great in AQ plus when your a beast your a beast lol he was my top champ for ages. I have a sig 88 wolverine and a duped iceman so he wont be on the r5 tree for a while

In my opinion beast is garbage.... Its kinda sad how bad they made beast.....

Beast's freestyle form adds 'X' amount of damage extra per blow. My beast is at 50 sig and does 213.43 direct damage per blow of combo. Then once the combo ends, his critical rating goes up for 5 seconds.

High bleed damage, coupled with the direct damage of freestyle mode means Beast is, well a bit of a Beast! As others have already pointed out, the second acrobatic form allows for a good amount of regen and barely any power gain per hit for the oppenent.

I've never once felt that he is a bad champ and his synergies are brilliant. 15% attack gain once combo is at 15 or more with Black Panther. 400+ block penetration with Yondu. He may not be the first choice for AQ or AW. But he makes the team for any other content.

Most underatted champ hands down, as long as he is duped. @Rotmgmoddy my advice is if you have the champs to pair with Beast, Yondu, black panther etc. Slot him in your team. If not, then i would say its not worth a R5 unless you can get the most out of him.

Beast could have been a great champ. In fact, the 4* version is quite decent at r5. He can hold his own in pve contents, aq, story mode ...etc, but bad in pvp.

Each of his combo count feeds into mystic dispersion.

He is also innately weaker to energy attacks.

The 5* is absolutely garbage at r3. His bleed and crit and regen are all tied to his sig, unless you have a sig 100+ version, the 4* is much stronger. Not to mention, the 5* r3 stats are lower than the 4*.

His forms will also randomly disappear during fights in aq. Be aware of that !

Love my beast. But I won’t lie - he rarely gets an outing these days, as I’ve had others to r5 etc. I use him in awd. Originally that was for synergy and diversity purposes, but he gets a few kills here and there.

He’s actually good against the Collector when entering the fight under 50% health. You can regen some health back but you can get off 40-45 hits before he reaches 1 bar of power.

Beast is amazing. He's underrated though cause people don't know how to use him.

I hate fighting beast he's unpredictable with his attacks I'd love a 4* beast

I concur with everyone else that said Beast is underrated. I have a 4* r4 sig 40 Beast and he is such a great champ to use. I rarely use his sp3 though because I think sp2 is so much better and the stun allows for more damage.

He's actually very underrated. I'm not saying he's god tier, (he's in the acceptable tier) but he can be very useful in some quests and arena. His crit bleeds are very useful and his chain combos r good. But he can become a bit bland and useless later in the harder story quests
