Battleground Unfair Match Up

So I'm just entered in thronebreaker club by ranking my doom up and I've got only 1 rank 3, since i reached platinum in BG I'm getting unfair match ups, they are having tons of rank 3 some rank 4 as well while I'm using 6* rank 1 level 1 champs. How can i beat and uplift myself to vibranium?

This is telling me that Kabam has created the same problem we had with AW many seasons ago. Only like rosters are getting matched with one another. You'll have Cav players on the gladiator circuit that have never been matched with a higher account.

Lmao unfair. I have 4 rank 4s it’s unfair that I matchup with people who have 10 rank 4s. Ugh I should stop playing.

It is basically a “King of the Hill” scenario. So with that small of a roster it is very unlikely.

What i dont understand is the part where u clarify u just became a Thronebreaker... There are players that have been Thronebreaker for over a year... U r already in disadvantage to them..
Basically u r a Cavallier +...
What i am trying to say is that progression level has nothing to do with it..

While this is not an issue of fairness, I would like to add that the Victory Track can be demotivating after you reach your level of competence/ability to progress. For example, I am in Gold 1 and am facing rosters with loads of tough fights. I am a decent player and have a good roster, but I feel like there is little chance for me to progress, and with the BG cycle only half way complete, I am wondering why I should keep trying until it resets.

I am fine losing and still have fun trying, and maybe in a week or two the other G1 players will be more like me bc the beefier rosters have moved up.

This is the only legitimate argument to have fairer matchmaking. If you're playing for the same rewards, you have the fight the same people. I think a better way than by Title would be more like how Incursions work. You can have different Sectors that can't be accessed if you're deck rating is too high/low. People with lower rated decks can choose to play in an easier sector for less rewards. Progressing tiers at a higher sector gives you all the rewards for the sectors below as well. I don't think it's fair to permanently gate off players based on their progression but if it is a choice left up to the player, then I think it's fair.

Pretty garbage that a player that just hit TB can make it up to Platinum. I must have just missed him when facing 15k+ matches in Silver.

You fight your bracket, not title or prestige or roster ect. A guy who just got TB should not be above guys who have been Paragon since day 1.

Lol..you are complaining that you are getting unfair match ups being in platinum and here I am, a paragon who is still languishing in silver because I am facing people with multiple r4’s and able to maintain only a 50% win rate 🤦‍♂️

That's exactly right cause Kabam has screwed up match making for this game mode. Match making will even search out of my tier to find a match closer to my roster. There's no way, there wasn't another person in Silver 1 who was looking for a match during US prime time.

I agree that is the best way but Kabam does need to make it so that success on the Victory Track doesn't get completely reset each season or they've created a situation where Uncollected/Cavalier players basically have to wait around for a few weeks at the start each season for Paragons and TBs to advance before they can get a chance to play.

You would assume that in any normal matchmaking system. I'm facing others who were Paragon day1 in Silver instead of Platinum.

I do agree that the progression levels should start at different tiers of the track. Matchmaking in general should be fair game after that though.

I don’t agree that rosters define your ‘limit’. I think it’s lazy of people to moan that they’re facing tough rosters which is why they can’t progress. That’s the whole point with it being a competitive game mode.

The matchmaking is broken, they really should've leave it as it was with one common leaderboard. If they want, they still could have different rank up rewards based on title, but matchmaking should be common for all players

I do find this concept very interesting and dont understand why everyone disagrees, because they all complain about unfair matchmaking but refuse to throw a solution, and i dont think we have many options for that aside for this

10 minutes a match? No timer? Maybe. Sure even. In a 3 minute match? Where the end healthpool makes a difference in scoring ? I’m going to strongly agree to disagree there.

Not necessarily. If we take all the Paragon players and sort them by skill, someone has to be at the top and someone has to be at the bottom. That guy at the bottom is screwed under the current (apparent) match system, because the vast majority of players he's going to match against are players that we've just determined by definition are going to have a significant advantage over him. And there isn't much they can do to change that situation, that everyone else can't also do to preserve that advantage over him.

If this was just a pure competition to find the best player in the game, then this would be fine. The weaker players have no chance at winning that title, so who cares at what point they get eliminated from contention. But Battlegrounds isn't just a pure competition to find the best player. It is also a participatory game mode where players compete to see how far they can get, even if the best they can do is not very high. The current system doesn't easily allow players to rise or fall to the level of their overall competitive strength. Player A can theoretically rise far higher than Player B even if Player B would consistently beat Player A in a head to head match up, simply because Player A and Player B never face anyone in an overlapping peer group. That's basically the analogous issue to the one we experienced with prestige matching in alliance war.

What I find really unfair is the amount of cheating that is going on in this mode. Just like in the beta nothing is done about it. Just ruins it for everyone else.

Just thought i would pop in and have a look see, boom, paragon with 7 R4’s, so guess what. Another loss, wow, getting guys with 20 or 30% more prestige and overall hero rating just deflates me.

I don’t see this as a valid argument. 2 of my most used defenders have been 5* (Penni and killmonger) and they’ve been getting me a ton of wins against rank 4 champs. The fact you use 5* doesn’t mean you can’t progress.
