8.1.1 Red Skull Boss

I was trying to fight 8.1.1 Red Skull boss with 6*R3 King Groot.
As King Groot is power drain immune he shouldnt be power drained and take damage while hitting on redskull's block. But I had about 50% health and 2 hits on block KOed KG.

Is he also draining your power?

Yes, also damage should be max 3230, as 323 is damage per buff and 10 armor ups on red skull should deal 3230.. and 2 hits should be 6460.. But I lost about 50% health(100%=63k)

Yes the 2 hits should be 6k, but that’s his BASE kit, you then have to take into account the additional health and attack % nodes.

I'm pretty sure this has been a thing since King Groot first got buffed, but haven't really seen it mentioned much. I'm pretty sure it's a bug as I don't see anywhere in either of their abilities that would make this an exception.

King Groot shouldn't be power drained, but the damage isn't tied to that power drain in itself. If you hit Red Skull's block, you are power drained (which shouldn't happen to KG) and you take damage (which he still should). Those are two different things that happen when you strike Red Skull's block.

I been wondering about this as my Venompool would take damage I just thought it off as some weird interaction but at the end of the fight the damage is clearly labeled power drain

As @Ercarret says, there are two separate effects.

The Power Drain doesn't cause the damage itself, it's a separate effect.

It's easy to prove:

1. Duel/practice a Red Skull with anybody (not particularly KG).
   
2. Back off, till he holds block. That way, you'll have zero power.
   
3. Hit into his block

You'll see that (despite being at zero power) you still take the damage; at least till you get through his five stacks of armour.

Power Drain as an affect doesn't do any damage .. It's a separate effect doing the damage. The fact that Kabam decided to call the damage Power Drain in the fight stats doesn't change this. It just kinda shows their lack of consistency when naming things. At least tell me that no characters with access to power burn existed before Red Skull or this will all make even less sense.

Both Visions say the they "Burn" up to xx% of the Opponent's power in their description. Do they say Power Drain in the fight stats?
