I visited the game devs (they were sleeping, it was an awesome Ghosts of Christmas Past thing, you would have loved it) and they told me they wanted to use that cool-guy's event to try something new and something about how it would be different every year; how exciting!

And then I inquired with them (threatened them to tell me) about gold deals... They said there wouldn't be any this year.

Those jerks didn't want to tell you, but I felt it best to let you know to temper your expectations on that one. That's all for now, but I'll be lurking in the shadows and I'll return when you need me most... Or when I feel like it, likely between pickleball matches.

Was stated months ago there was no plan for them to return, nothing in the in game message says the gold deals are coming. People just assume and then keyboard rage if they are wrong.

People don't have units more than they don't have gold. That doesn't stop them from releasing unit offers every Thursday

If this is a joke, haha, good one. But if it's not, this post is going to age like milk because everyone knows Deadpool likes to joke and lie. Coupled with the expectations people already have that the gold offers are in fact returning, you're going to get serious backlash from the community if they're not, and you "told" us through a serial liar.

You can't hide behind Thrillson if your aim is to convey serious information about the event. So please be straight with us, are the gold offers coming back or not?

If anyone is at all confused, I am quite certain this means the gold offers are not coming back this year in the form they existed in last year (or any similar form of people being able to buy ultra-valuable stuff with big piles of gold).

They never promised it was coming back and even recently when somebody asked about it the dev team said that at the time they hadn't decided whether it was but not to hold anything they say as gospel until day of. So this isn't a surprise out of left field, it's more of a your deadbeat dad who always promises to visit and fails to follow through, just called to say he might come to visit..

If it isn't a joke its simply more proof that Kabam remain tone deaf to the community wants, or at least the part of the community I've witnessed that have been vocal about wanting to see the return of this event.

I'm not on the side of wanting something for nothing, but to announce the event then a few days later, change the premise of the event from what would be expected based on the history of the event, seems entirely bizarre to me.

However I look at it, I feel the post was poorly timed, worded and in bad taste. I guess the only thing to do it "wait and see" but I fear the backlash on the forums if the event has been changed from a gold based purchase or if whatever replaces it doesn't in some way make more sense.

Right. While I consider it disappointing, I will reserve final judgement until I see what tomorrow offers. I’m amused the usual “all offers aren’t for everyone” crowd isn’t defending the gold-for-stuff offers.

It is Kabam’s game, and they are the masters of whatever offers they decide to make. Players are also within their rights to like or to pan offers for any reason or no reason at all.

It may seem very odd to some people that there are scores of players who have a glut of gold without many good uses for it. That’s likely no different from players with lots of BCs, units, loyalty, etc., but it isn’t as rare as people think. Providing a way to spend non-cash, non-unit in-game currency for useful things shouldn’t be an anomaly in MCoC.

So you say what dev said in this post is 100% straight answer meaning it doesnt come back and theres 0% chance it was a deadpool persona style joke?

I am tottaly ok with offers not coming back. I am just not ok with it being a SURPRISE when asked info about it beforehand to get next progressions

Not coming guys. Will be something else. They probably realised the offers allowed us to offload tons of gold we didn’t need and failed to sell much of it. So why bring it back if it makes no money. They have likely come up with something instead that they believe will make more money and it purely comes down to that.

While it would be nice for Kabam to provide a non-jokey answer so you can plan your progression, they don't strictly owe you any information.

Where any individual player is in their Progression, in relation to any potential offer, is not strictly important to Kabam.

Unlike the situation where Kabam didn't reveal the existence of Paragon until after people had passed on the T6 and T3 offer that did not depend on progression, in this situation the likely progression based offers are rewards for different progression levels. So if players miss out on an offer because they are not Paragon, then that is on the player themselves.

My guess: Unit deals similar to last year, but instead of / in addition to goldpool crystals, you will also get some featured Deapool cavs.

Arena, which gives 2 star candy shards and points towards getting deadpool milestone, and platinum pool crystals.

And unfortunately I think the gold offers will be replaced by something else. I really hope I'm wrong... as that was received stupendously well... compared to the rank up gem event which many players weren't hoarding in preparation for at the time. It would be a shame if we didn't keep something good / didn't learn our lesson.

Really makes me want to smash my head against a wall.

Last year morale was super low in the game because of the input issues and other game breaking bugs. Probably the biggest low the game has seen since v12. Then the gold offers came in and were such a breath of fresh air that some positivity returned to the game. I can't for the life of me understand why they wouldn't bring back something that had such a positive reception?!

Everyone in this game has differing amounts of resource. Some have Units spilling over, some have Loyalty. Unit deals happen frequently and those without any saved up miss out. The loyalty store got a significant upgrade and those without any loyalty saved miss out. Shouldn't it be the same for gold? Great news for those with plenty and those with low gold balances simply have to miss out the same as any of us do when something is released that we do not have the resource for.

Seriously, what the hell else am I supposed to do with all this Gold in reserve?!
