8.1.2 bpcw bug?

Fighting the bpcw boss in 8.1.2 he has the autoblock node, with the best defense, and he gains power every time he autoblocks. My question is should he be "auto blocking" unblockable attacks, then gaining the power for it?? Does not seem correct.

He goes to autoblock, gains the power, but you then break that block. Seems fine to me.

I mean with that logic then explosive personality should be giving him an armor up every time as well. I feel like one of them is not working as intended.
