Does Tech Doom need be duped?

Got Tech Doom from the arena grind, does anyone know if he has to be duped?

He doesn’t need to be duped but he gets some nice pieces of utility from his dupe:

1) 100% reduced Unblockable ability accuracy at sig 1 when in Aura of Iron

2) Up to 35% regeneration when below 15%, when this regen is active the opponent is special locked

3) Increased block prof and energy resistance when Armour buff is up
