Autofight champ selection

Hey there,

when autofighting, is the attacker purely selected on the basis of PI and remaining health?

Atleast this is what I always thought. But I have recently come across some more intelligent selections... A.I. chose CapIW against defenders with unstoppable, Iceman against Toad...

I wonder whether this was just a coincidence or the A.I. actually has an algorithm where a fighter's abilities are considered in autofight champion selections...
