Summoner's choice 2023 suggestions for improvement

I'm going to Replay the last two Summoner's choices to make sure I get it right.

In Oct 2020, We were given eight choices for a new character to be introduced. The eight options were Dazzler (mutant, Blue Marvel (cosmic), Okoye (Skill), Morbius (Science), Omega Sentinel (tech) , Iron Heart (tech), and the winner Hercules (cosmic) . Voting took place over November and ended in December. Hercules was introduced in July 2021. None of the runners up would be introduced until 2022. So far Omega Sentinel is the only other character that has been introduced this year2022 though it's very likely we could get Okoye or Ironheart in November .

In December 2021 they ran the contest again but this time with 12 choices, 2 from each class of Champions. Mutant had Armor and Dani Moonstar as options. Mystic gave us Agatha Harkness and Kushala the Spirit Rider, Cosmic had Beta Ray Bill and Crystal. Skill presented Bullseye and Baron Zemo. Science presented Quicksilver and Jessica Drew. Lastly Tech choices were Spiderman Villian Prowler and Hobgoblin. Quicksilver was introduced in August. The other 11 could be introduce in 2023.

Now that we have the recap, I'll give my opinions They can't have any of the past champions reintroduced at this point. We know that they are already on Kabam's mind and don't need to be revoted on. I feel Kabam should stick with the format they used last year. The only way to make it better is to give 24 options but that seems a bit much. Just make sure all the characters are well known. Personally I would suggest have Karate Mike do thorough introduction of the characters so their History and powers are known. Make sure the character is well known and can be easily researched. Make it so if they never heard of a character, they have links so they can do their research. Does anyone else have suggestions?

Personally, I’d prefer if the characters weren’t characters that are well known, popular and have been requested for years. My main problem with last year’s vote was that Quicksilver was such a highly requested character, so he was pretty much going to win by default unless people wanted to wait another couple years for him to be added. I really wouldn’t want to look at this year’s vote and see characters like Mystique and Sand-man there. I’d like to see some slightly more obscure options in the vote since including more recognizable characters results in them being pushed to one side for who knows how long when they lose.

It all depends on your point of view. Mystique and Sandman are major players in their reapective books. I would say this year about half of the characters have been obscure: Spot, Sauron, Toad, Misty Knight, Gorr the God butcher . They aren't terribly well known or have had small print runs.

I agree, Quicksilver for the majority of people was voted because he was very cool and very well known whereas very few will know who Armor is. You need all well known or none to make it seem more fair and even to all candidates

Misty was only really active in the 70s and early 80s She hasn't been in a book of her own. She's a supporting character in Captain American Sam Wilson.

Sauron is much the same, I think He's active in X-men Green.

Gorr was only active in one Thor Storylin in the comics. Yes he was the main baddie in Thor : love and Thunder but most people are calling that the worst Marvel movie made

Gorr is a recent addition to marvel. Came around in what 2012? I wouldn't call that obscure. Just new.

Misty is always part of defenders, heroes for hire, daughter of the dragon etc. Just because they don't usually have their own titles series does not make them obscure. Sauron is always the major player when the savage land is involved. And basing a character as obscure because people didn't like one movie also doesn't make them obscure. But carry on.

You skipped about 30 years of comics right there between the 80s and today. Sauron was a major player in any savage land saga as stated above particularly in the 90s and 00s, and Misty has always been about in other books if not her own as listed.

My only wish is that they don't put in someone who's been highly requested like Quicksilver was, who's clearly going to win it otherwise it's just pointless.

To be fair they literally said that about every Thor film upon release and even if it was popular enough like ragnarok, you still had critics who complained that they ruined Thor by not keeping him as he was.

I think they should pick a mix of Champions obscure and non-obscure like I suggested above

But the problem is you just repeated the mistake of 2022 and put a beyond God tier, everybody wants that champ over everybody else in the game list

They don’t have to do those champion specifically it was just an idea
I am just saying I think we should have a mix of obscure champions with non-obscure champions

I like this idea however the characters have to have some sort of popularity or I think most players will not be interested.
Here are some suggestions for those characters.
1) Anti-man: probable class (cosmic)
2) Madcap: probable class (mutant)
3) Recorder 451: Probable class (tech)
4) Mister X: probable class (skill)
5) Hazmat (Jennifer Takeda): Probable class (Science)
These characters aren’t overly popular however a handful of the MCOC Community has seemed to take an interest in them.

The rule of thumb is that if they don't win the vote, they're just ineligible for the remainder of that year, so he should be an option again starting in January.

Yes which means he was not considered to be brought in anytime soon and I'm glad he's getting another chance

We have a full week to vote. We will see how it goes. Right now Bullseye is in the lead with prowler following behind. maybe we should update every day or so
