Spidey 2099 vs Rintrah Neutralize Question?

AmaadAkiraAmaadAkira Member Posts: 393 ★★★
When I'm playing spiderman 2099 vs rintrah and I've got a neutralize on me and then try dex, it states 'buff failed' and rintrah gains +2 mystical charges. Why? It states on rintrah's abilities "when they fail to gain a buff BECAUSE OF Neutralize, gain 2 mystical charges." But spiderman 2099 doesn't gain buffs to begin with? So why is rintrah gaining 2 mystical charges?

Defeats the purpose of playing a buff immune champion against rintrah when he works just as well against them anyway.

There was a very long thread on this last month, try searching for that.

This concern was brought up with longshot and Wiccan as spidey99 was getting incinerates when dexing. Kabam stated that neutralize takes place before buff immunity when gaining a buff. Not that I agree with it but that’s just how it is.

Wow. Well that is pretty stupid seen as it means there is no real difference between buff immunity and nullify/fateseal immunity then. I assumed buff immunity would work for neutralize, whereas nullify/fateseal immunity is good against other nodes but NOT neutralize. It just makes them identical then lmao.

In that case, buff immunity is a net negative if anything. You lose the benefits of buffs and make up for it by not degen-ing against mojo? Make it make sense Kabam.
