Battlegrounds - Switching Attacker/Defender Selection Changes In Last Seconds

I play on an iPhone 8+, iOS 16.2.

When selecting an attacker or defender in battlegrounds, sometimes I make last second changes. I've been finding that while the selection timer is still above zero on my screen and I make a choice in the last second or so, it reverts back to the previous champion and doesn't log the change. This has been pretty frustrating, as this has cost me important matches. Why wouldn't this operate according the clock on my side as opposed to server side? I'm assuming the issue comes from the clocks being out of sync.

Anyone else running into this? I'll try and get a video of it.

That's not the issue for me ... it's the LAG and then discover your champs have been chosen for you.

Yeah i hate it man ... lost more rounds than I can count because of that .. game lags out can't choose and discover I've opted to take Doom against Torch smh or some other ridiculous match.

I have noticed this too. They used to randomly select a champ with about 1 second left if you hadn't locked in a selection. This has been changed so that you no longer need to lock in your selection if you have one highlighted. however, if you don't have one highlighted, it does make a random selection still with about 1 second left. I recommend immediately picking a gut instinct champ during all selection phases and then just not locking them in. This way, you will at least mitigate a worst case outcome while you are trying to determine if what you initially thought was actually what you ultimately want to go with.

Happens to me all the time.

If I take too long picking my bans, sometimes it will select my first pick for me.

If that happens, I know I can't leave my picks to the last seconds because my timer isn't accurate.

Very big problem that needs addressing.

This was an issue ever since the beta and as said before i think it has to do with lag between the server and each persons device. So yeah as @K00shMaan suggested i try to pick early and then spend the timer deciding if that's who i really want so at least someone i do prefer is picked vs the random and usually terrible picks by the server.
