Question about current event crystals

I just became uncollected today. When I reopened the app I have access to new crystals like that the uncollected arena and the cavalier offers that goes to 6*. The current event candy crystals still cap at 5* though...

Do these update with progression as well or am I stuck with the cap I was when I started the monthly event?

Pretty sure you need to be Cavalier to get the higher event crystals

I mean its not that much farther ahead. Ultron boss is so much easier with the newer champs of today compared to what we had when he first dropped
