I have around 8.5k 6 star shards. This will be my first. When I get the shards, what should I do with them? I’m pretty much uncollected btw 5.2.3

I’m tempted to go against conventional wisdom and advise you to grab a featured, especially if you buy the Sigil for the 2K shard discount. This pool probably has a higher percentage of useful champs for your account than the basic pool does.

But I’m sure others will disagree.

Actually would recommend the featured as well! There are more useful champs in the featured this time around and if you pull a featured that’ll be amazing for first 6*

I would recommend going for basic . Featured does have a good pool of champs but don't forget it contains the almighty God Groot and others like him . I would be devastated to pull him as my 1st 6* and that too after spending 15k shards.

we still love you Zola even on disagrees

My first six star was Doom from a basic and the one time I got a featured I got Groot so it could go either way . It’s all pure luck

My first basic was Domino and my first featured was Archangel, so it could great either way, if there's a champ you really want in the featured that might be the better route.

No worries! I would honestly only put Maw, Thor and Groot as the useless pulls in this crystal. At UC and 5.2.3 progression, I doubt the basic has a 7/8 chance of delivering a solid champ but going basic is the safest strategy. Perhaps I’m just feeling a little more like a risk-taker than usual…

Your getting your first 6*. You need to build a 6* roster. Do that by opening basics. Even getting a good featured champ will set you back half another 6*. That's not even mentioning the resources needed to rank that one 6* that you won't have yet or the fact most champs benefit from being awakened. Also, you say your basically uncollected, but your not. You still have 4 quests to go, one of them being the notorious 5.2.4 that everyone struggles with and then the grandmaster himself, who for a new player such as yourself will still be difficult even with newer champs. Being collected still means you can't get the resources you need in big quantities yet. Bottom line, open the basic.

Hello, I’m others today. I always say for first time or early 6 stars, go for basic. However either option has a chance of getting you a groot now

You have no 6 stars, I get why they say go featured but you can get 2 6s sooner than just wait to have a 6 star. Most 6 stars will be useful at the stage of your account. I used my first 6 star often even though it was karnak lol

If you're a gambler, get featured but if you are more rational, go with basics until you have about 5 to 6 6-star champs.

I am exclusively opening Featured now but that's only because I have over 100 6* champs.

This featured looks pretty juicy however, I pulled all duds, so there's that.
