Testing out Black Cat's Critical Bleed damage

I love Black Cat. I have her as an r4. However, I mainly use her against tricky opponents who have a lot of annoying abilities that trigger when you hit them since she's so good at shutting all of those interactions down. Whenever one of those abilities fails, she deals a lot of direct damage that quickly ramps up.

However, I've been curious to test her out against champions who don't have anything to shut down in order to see how much damage her bleeds can do when you focus on building up your cruelty and vicious passives instead. Her SP2 bleeds are critical bleeds, after all.

Turns out, they can do a ton of damage.

Yes, I know the boss has Bleed Vulnerability (that is, in part, why I chose Black Cat to begin with), but I still think it's a pretty impressive takedown if I dare say so myself. I figured I'd show it to you guys in case anyone else is as curious about her ability to deal damage when there isn't anything for her DAAR to exploit.

So you think she's worth a rank up?
    How high?

I do have a pretty decent roster and recently pulled black cat, but haven't looked into her at all.

For some perspective, my account is 12.5k PI and 2.2 mil. Champ rating.

I have her at r3 right now. Not gonna go to r4 for now because Kingpin goes first. She is very good in BGs. All it takes is 1 sp2 to shut down annoying defenders like Thing, Rintrah, prevent iHulk's immortality. She's not the fastest but she is incredibly safe.

I have used her a bit in the 8.2 beta and her damage really ramps up. I don't think she's the best for short bursty fights, but she excels at medium-long fights. She's gonna shine in any scenario where you can fail opponent's abilities by hitting them.

    Absolutely, @rockykoston.

I think she's worth ranking up as high as possible. I ranked up Kingpin before her but she was my second Skill r4. To me, those two champions represent the two types of abilities that I'm looking for in Skill champions: to shrug off debuffs (Kingpin) and to reduce the opponent's defensive ability accuracy (Black Cat). Those were my two first priorities when it came to ranking up champions in that class.

This video was a pure damage showcase but as I said in the post, I've previously primarily used her for her defensive ability accuracy reduction. It allows her to (eventually) shut off a lot of annoying things like Thing's rock stacks, Hulkling's regen/indestructibility buffs, Rintrah's mystical charges, various evades and auto-block effects, and even allows you to bypass certain champions' shrug-off abilities (meaning that your bleeds will stick on Kingpin, for example).

Every time an effect like this fails to trigger, she deals a burst of direct damage to the opponent. This means that you can just nuke through opponents if they have abilities that fail with every strike. Some examples of this are Thing's rock stacks which should increase with one with every strike, but now don't; or Killmonger's indestructibility charges, which should trigger whenever he's struck, but don't. It's a very, very powerful ability to have.

You do need to reach an SP2 in order to get to a full -100% defensive ability accuracy reduction (which is important since she can only reach -60% through her regular combos, and this can be risky in certain situations), but once it's there, it's very easy to keep up since the debuff that gives her that DAAR (as well as any other debuff on the opponent or passive on her) is paused every time an ability fails to trigger on the opponent.

She's one of the best champions released this year, in my opinion, and one of the best champions in the Skill class as a whole.

Thank you for the detailed write up.

Definitely sounds interesting and I'll take her to to r2 / r3 for now.
