I gotten maybe 6 or 7 piggy banks. Started out at ~1,000,000. I’m at ~1,000,000 now after doing 3 r2’s and 2 r4’s. Couple five stars up to 3/45 as well. Gold is crazy few and far between.

Hoping for a way out that doesn’t include gold being my only SQ reward for a month lol.

I took a 6* Warlock to R3 and 6* Valkyrie to R2 today and dropped below 90 million gold. I'm back over 90 million now, so it was touch and go for a bit but OK now.

I'm pivoting to gold in the SQ, went for 6* shards before. How are you guys maintaining a net gain on gold? I never manage to break the 10 mil gold mark. I'm back to scraping the bottom of the barrel after a few rank ups.

I don't think there's any mystery to it. Either you increase the gold that comes in (do arena, incursions, EQ) or you reduce your expenditure. I'm not sure how much you meant by "a few rank ups". I rank up enough to hit the milestones when the level up event is up. If you're used to taking champs "straight up to rank 3", or 4 even, you're likely spending more gold than you should.

I have a 2,700,000 overall rating. I have never had gold issues or ranking issues and frankly i do not understand how that is possible except for poor resource management.

Sorry to break it to you but we both earn gold and use it in the same way around here (unless you spend a lot of money on the game).

There is no gold casino I'm wasting my gold in. What poor resource management? 🤔 My last 3 rank 3s were Apoc, Titania and Galan. I don't even rank up defenders for BGs anymore.

You may use it the same way but you aren't earning it the same way. We all have the same sources to get it but many don't use all of them. You are out pacing your gold intake for ranking up.

If you are gold starved... stop spending gold on things you don't need / don't make it your limitting factor. start with not leveling up champs you don't plan to use, and instead use that iso where actually needed if you are low, and sell whatever you can.

Next... stop ranking up champs just because you have catalysts, and only rank up champs you use. Might you "waste a catalyst" that you now aren't putting into your 5 star Cyclops to r4 so you can get a couple more arena points... sure, but you also aren't wasting gold... and at least so far in the thread... you are worried about gold, not catalysts.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't touched a 5star champion since last year. My last R3s included Galan, Titania, Apoc, Mr. Negative, Moleman (all of who are insanely good champions useful for bgs and aw). And if I'm worried about gold and not catalysts today, I'll be worried about catalysts tomorrow if I'm letting it all rot in the overflow.

Lose lose situation. Even worse, I'll be getting info from the next guy teaching me about catalyst management.

It's no coincidence a lot of people who have over 50 million gold have more R3s and R4s than me. If they're spending gold at a 3x faster rate and I'm (supposedly) earning it at a 3x lower rate, shouldn't we still have similar gold stashes? How do they have about 50million in abundance? Is there some God I'm not praying to in my pastime?

Demonzfyre hit the nail in the head: we all get gold from the same sources. Unless you are a spender, then it's a completely different ball game.
Whatever theories you might have about what others do or have are very much irrelevant. Want more gold? Get grinding. Don't want to grind? Rank up more sparingly.

The real question for those with a ton of gold is what are they buying in the glory store. Because of they get very little rankup resources, then of course they'll have a lot of gold. As it has been pointed out, it costs a lot to level up 6*s, but if you're not ranking anyone, then you'll have a ton of gold.

This is blatantly untrue. You're ignoring gold received from spending money, spending units, cavs and selling isos.

Which is in FAR higher quantities than you can earn by grinding. IE the piggy bank gives you 1million gold every 30mins for £4.49. Or you can grind arena for 3 days straight and no life it to receive half that depending on your roster ofc.

But I don’t complain about it, because I choose to rank up different characters for testing and fun. For instance, I took up an OG 5-star Ms. Marvel to 5/65 Sig 200, just because I wanted to see how hard it it, what the DPS felt like

That’s because this game is very simple: You get out what you put in, moderated by the choices you make. If you want to do more with your roster, then you need to do more gathering of resources. If you want to have larger reserves of resources, then you need to save more resources

The great thing about this game — seriously — is that you control everything except which characters you acquire. You can influence that but not control it. But everything else, you can control. It might not be fun, but you can control it

That's not really how that works. You obviously do arena as that's what your picture shows. But how much do you do? How often? Are you doing incursions?

If you're a spender, are you selling ISO from batches of Cav crystals?

The other part of this is many of these accounts have been playing and grinding since the game started. But doesn't mean that they're eating gold 3x faster than you, it's just their rank ups are planned out.

Are you ranking just 6*'s? Are you ranking every champ you get? Are all your 6*'s at r1 25/25 or above? There's always a reason someone is bottlenecked with a certain resource.

Again, you have those same sources. Some you may not want to do, some might be that you can't do like spending. But, if you can't spend, Arena is where F2P who wants gold spend their time.

If you could help, honestly, be my guest. I have nothing against your advice, it simply just doesn't help. I haven't touched 5 stars or below in a year minimum. I have very few 6* R1s (7 I think) and 10 R2s. I have 70 6stars that have not had a single iso brick put into them. All my R3 and 4s are ONLY demi God or above attackers, no exclusively defensive champs whatsoever (ie no ebony maw, man thing, sasquatch, annihilus all of which I have at 6 star but haven't touched). The only R3s I could have done without taking to R3 are shehulk(but didn't have a slow champ as a 6star before her, and ihulk who I use to revive farm in act 5).

I run incursions to minimum the 150k~ milestone every 5 days or so. I run arena to minimum all gold milestones except the 6star featured arena. I complete and explore all side quest difficulties except normal over the month unless I'm busy (but still cav and uncollected MINIMUM). Even in the workshop, I've ONLY been selecting the gold milestones. I even bought the piggy bank once when I rarely ever spend money.

During the bg store reset, I luckily picked up Galan and Titania. Taking them to R3 depleted ALL of my gold (around 7mill?).

I go on youtube 5mins later and see people taking 5 new champs to R4. The difference is and always will be: they spend money much more than I do. Which is fine. Except I can only take 1 champ to R3 every 1-2 weeks and can't even dream about taking champs to R4 nowadays.

If i were you, I wouldn't put so much effort into this game at all. The people here suggesting you grind more are out of touch with reality. They don't realise that most people don't get nearly enough breaks to "do arena" during their free time at work and a lot of the players are also students who play the game to relax, de-stress and have fun without having to be worried about losing out on things just because they don't consider their game to be their 2nd job. Doing arenas for gold leaves you with no time for other things in the game. So why even bother grinding for gold if you are not gonna be able to use the gold for anything else. These people need more than just a reality check.

Also in before some delusional marvel contest of champions (mcoc) players says "it's just 30 minutes and 3 hours of endless grinding LOL get good nub"
