If I choose science class, will there be a champion like Spot or Titania in the pool? I want to make sure I don't make a bad choice here.

    If you wait a couple months to open them, yes. Titania joins the basic pool on Jan 17 and Spot joins on Feb 28. You could get science now and just hold it.
