Yeah, he sure sounds awesome. And whoever wrote those commentaries sure made him sound totally fresh and new. That Hit-Monkey synergy especially is going to be awesome if anyone ever decides to actually play Spider-Man and finds out he actually has it.

I can’t tell if this is serious or not, so I think the joke is getting too potentially confusing for the less-well informed.

Prof Hoff went to the MCOC spotlight page for OG Spider-Man, perhaps because someone pointed him there, and I assume decided that the champion description there was describing the upcoming buff for Spider-Man. I guess because the “expert commentary” made him sound like a completely new champ. However, the commentary on that page is not describing a new, different Spider-Man. It is describing the current version of Spider-Man. The one that’s always been here (minus updates to synergy partners of course).

The idea was to describe Spidey in a reasonably favorable light, while pointing out things most people might not know about him. Not many people know about the Hit Monkey synergy, for example. But because so few people use or discuss OG Spidey, many people apparently don’t recognize him from his actual description and commentary page.

But I can assure everyone that the description in the spotlight page is describing the OG OG Spidey, not a future buff of OG Spidey. If you read the page all the way to the end, there’s an explanation for my absolute certainty in this matter.

Made a forum account after 6 years literally just to say I’ve been following this thread and all your flattering remarks about the expert commentator have been making me laugh out loud since it looks like literally no one reads to the end of the page (even when someone is clearly egging them on).

Anyway, also been wanting to say for ages you’re one of the reasons I bother to come to the forums! Please never stop with the self-described “useless” math posts - I, for one, disagree with your assessment. Love both your fun and conspiracy-refuting math posts.

Glad to have the classic Spidey look as cool as the other Spider-Verse champs. Here’s hoping they add the Hit-Monkey synergy to his base kit and update his mechanics. Spider-Man should be fun for a new player or a 8-year Paragon Whale.
