What's the deal with Incursions cooldown?

I thought as soon as you enter a zone with champs the cooldown starts and doesnt change.

I ran a few zones over a few days when I had time, the 5 day timer expired and it reset the champ cooldown.

So i thought next time I'll make sure to quit the run before the 5 day timer expires, so I did that and it reset the champ cooldown again.

Is this a bug? Does the champ cooldown timer refresh each time you use a champion even if you didnt swap in different champions?

Am i a dingus?

    Don't know if you are a dingus(lol), but I do know that cooldown period starts only when the champs are released from the map. It is the arenas which starts the cooldown as soon as the champs are selected.

    Ahh ok i am a dingus. I thought i could load my champs in on day 1 just to get the cooldown rolling and finish the run at a later day and not have to wait as long. Thanks @Kylo
