War has become stagnant under the current format

While I applaud the attempts to make the Alliance War more interesting, my alliance is rapidly approaching a disappointing end-point in the new system. We are now regularly entrenched in war matchups that feature:
  1. Equal Boss Kills (3)
  2. Equal Diversity (150)
  3. Equal exploration (100%)

This means that wars are being decided by razor thin margins based entirely on defender rating. There is little "fun" in this system. Occasionally we will face an alliance that attempts to prevent 3 boss kills by using a lot of redundant and challenging defenders. This might slow down a good alliance but generally this is a losing proposition as an opponent will always win if they get 3 boss kills.

Honestly, the rewards for winning a war are not tremendous (we are currently in tier 5), so it is difficult to continue to put effort in this part of the game. The one thing that would bring back some of the missing dynamic would be to restore defender kills, allowing the defense based strategy some balance with the diversity based model.

I am sure that the MCOC teams heard this before but it is becoming a serious problem with my >8M alliance.

We went back to mystic wars with the rest for the top alliances

We bounce around between tier 5 and 7, and I'm finding that blockade defenses can beat diverse defenses with the right placement, and are likely to improve once the nodes are obscured again.

It won't beat an alliance that spends through the blockade, but that's less than 50% of the alliances we face in my experience. I don't expect to win a lot more than 50%, especially because if we did we wouldn't be in tier 6. We'd be in tier 4 getting our asses kicked back down to tier 5.

We are also in tier 5. We have also been doing blockade defense and it's actually made it funnier. Last war we lost to diversity but they didn't take the last boss till the end it was fun for once watching them.
