While I applaud the attempts to make the Alliance War more interesting, my alliance is rapidly approaching a disappointing end-point in the new system. We are now regularly entrenched in war matchups that feature:
- Equal Boss Kills (3)
- Equal Diversity (150)
- Equal exploration (100%)
This means that wars are being decided by
razor thin margins based entirely on defender rating. There is little "fun" in this system. Occasionally we will face an alliance that attempts to prevent 3 boss kills by using a lot of redundant and challenging defenders. This might slow down a good alliance but generally this is a losing proposition as an opponent will always win if they get 3 boss kills.
Honestly, the rewards for winning a war are not tremendous (we are currently in tier 5), so it is difficult to continue to put effort in this part of the game. The one thing that would bring back some of the missing dynamic would be to restore defender kills, allowing the defense based strategy some balance with the diversity based model.
I am sure that the MCOC teams heard this before but it is becoming a serious problem with my >8M alliance.
