What is Boss Rush?

Can someone fill me in and why is this a better strategy than 100% completion

Mainly concerning AQ but also heard it mentioned for AW

    you boss rush to the boss, and remove the global for others to find their lanes easier.
    boss rush is also an easy method to get boss down and get some easy guaranteed points.
