Battlegrounds Algorithm Question

I've had quite a few questions about BGs as a gamemode since its release. However, I still don't know how its algorithm decides who I match with. It's just utter chaos. I'm currently an Uncollected player, and I find myself constantly being matched against Cavaliers, and even Thronebreakers, all of which had over 5 6* r3s. This isn't a bug report, it's just a question. What factors does the algorithm consider during matchmaking, and is there any way I can fix my current situation? Any comment would be helpful!

I don't think the game team will tell you exactly how matchmaking is done. That might lead to players exploiting loopholes in it
