Sandbagging in Battleground.

Some players with more than four 6 star rank 4 champions are using 1 and 2 star champion. And I have been matching them frequently. It won't allow me to go past silver 2. Isn't it a unfair for players like me to play against these players? Why don't we consider it a form of cheating.

Do you have 4 or more R4 6*s yourself? And by that, I mean in your account, not your deck.

Sandbagging hasn’t worked as an effective strategy in like 3 seasons. Anyone still doing it is only putting themselves at a disadvantage. In current stage of matchmaking you can essentially match against anyone regardless of your account, so it is essentially pure chance that you’re getting paired against people sandbagging and not a result of them successfully using a sad strategy.

I am fully sandbagging this season, my deck has 30 2* Champs. Didn't win a single match, but at least I'm helping others

All of the matches were against 6* rosters.

Ditto, I have fielded a deck of 1* and 2* to run but quickly lose matches. The worst thing is when I keep getting connection errors and it would have been quicker to do the fight properly! 😅

Don't cry about sandbagging players bc they haven't figured out THAT SANDBAGGING DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE
they put themselves at a big disadvantage and it's kinda funny when I fight a sandbagger and they instantly quit or when they have to draft 2*s

Sandbagging doesn't work anymore. It doesn't lower their rating, it only makes their team worse.

Bet you a dollar OP has a weak account, that allowed him to cruise through VT, and now he's facing "sandbaggers" in GC.

And obviously, as everyone else has pointed out, sandbagging doesn't work as a means to manipulate matchmaking anymore.

No one is defending sandbagging. What they keep trying to explain to you is sandbagging doesn't NOT work for several seasons now. Sure someone can put lower star champs in their active BG roster but it does NOT change their matchmaking.

Kabam uses actual roster strength NOT BG roster for matchmaking purposes.

If they really at the side of disadvantage then why do such players use this method. That's my point. "It won't work from last season" this statement is the real issue. Then why do I am frequently matching with such accounts. These players having prestige of 15k to 16k and i am having 10k. How can I beat them? Do you have any answer?

We are only a week and a half into the BG season. Saying you get to gold 1 every season is far from a flex. Despite that, you still have a few weeks to get there, you don't have to get there overnight. I get to GC every season, but am still in silver because, what's the rush?

Lol, i do reach gold very soon as I play BG a lot. But my account rating won't gets me past the gold section and i am not complaining about it. Today i played 7 matches and got matched with 4 sandbaggers. I don't mind if I lose to a legit players and offcourse my win ratio is very low. The problem is person with more rank 4 six stars does this inappropriate method. Why do players still sandbagging if it's not working as intended? Those who are advocating sandbaggers have rank 4 and rank 5s in their roasters who can easily get past thi them but what about me? I don't have rank 4,rank 3 champs. How can I beat them with 4 rank 2, in which 3 always gets banned?

@Kabam Miike when is the sandbagging issue going to be fixed? You guys banned 4* and below in act 6 and up. Why isn’t the same ban done in bgs?

The Sandbagging players also affect the choice we get to select our 7 champs
When their champs have 2 r4 6* and rest 1* or 2* ,the champs we get to select in the fight would be of less rating, like r1 6* or any other kind

compare the rating
he have more than 4 champs with 12k and above and I only got to select my 7k to 9k champs

Okay, out of personal curiosity just to see if anything changes, I tested this out myself. I made my BG roster 15 r3s and r4s and 15 1 and 2 stars. I then started 2 BG matchups. I emphasize that I started them (didn't even play them) as it was pointless.

Both times, I was matched up against rosters that were primarily r4 and r5 6 stars with some r3s 6 stars as well.

Based on OP persistence, I tested this out myself and 100% confirmed that sandbagging does NOT work. Now I'm just annoyed with myself for wasting 30 energy over this silly test.

I could have saved you a little bit of pain. I was one of those players using a 5/50 deck when the change was made. I instantly began matching against players with vastly strong decks, but comparable rosters to mine. I never actually sandbagged my deck, but the moment 5/50 decks stopped working, they stopped working very obviously, and that pretty much signaled that sandbagging stopped working simultaneously.

I don't spend tons of time trying to correct this misconception, because why should we? Anyone who wants to continue doing that is welcome to it. I keep hoping I get matched against them, but they are becoming fewer and farther between.

I actually like it when there are consequences for being wrong. People can make up all kinds of lunatic conspiracies about how crystals work, but because they are random no misconception about them can hurt a player either way. Random is random. But when a player thinks sandbagging works even when they are told it doesn't work and Kabam says they eliminated that strategy, I'm perfectly fine with people stubbornly doing it anyway. That's the penalty for being wrong.

Although I think in many cases it is less about being stubborn, and more about not caring at all about deck management. They set it and forgot it, and can't be bothered to fix it. Because many decks I see with 2* champs in them are also highly dubious for the current meta at the time.
