No, just need to be old
Correct, you should just needed to be old enough to be at dance clubs on summer of 2000 😉
Except from Europe, that Sandstorm was a massive dance hit, it was quite a popular worldwide.
Surely one of the all time greatest dance hits 🙂

I’m apparently the only college football fan here. This song puts in major work at USC-east football games.

Gotta be the killjoy... the Finnish name Darude is pronounced dah-ruh-deh, which undermines the pun a bit.

    Darude ain’t a Finnish name.
It’s actually a nickname that was given to Virtanen at a classmate’s party, for playing several times the song “Rude Boy”.
His was called from then Rude Boy, later Da Rude and finally he made it his stage name “Darude”.
Have read these at an interview of Virtanen at a popular music magazine in early 2000’s 🙂

Interesting. I hadn't heard the party story. It seems he allows both pronunciations; in his reddit Q&A, he replies, "Darude in Finland, Daruud elsewhere, I guess."
