Titan Crystals instead of feature crystals.

Thoughts? I am not sure I am excited about two currencies for 7 stars.

this is what i understood from the stream mate, we get titan crystals from duping a 7 star basically as they explained and others modes... since there is no 8 stars at the moment titan crystals will be the replacement crystals in duping the 7 stars at the moment.. instead of giving double the 7 star shards again

I think its a good change. You can target 2 different pools simultaneously. Instead of now where it's just 1 at a time.

If you want to go after a new champ they won’t be immediately diluted into an already growing pool.

It’s all gonna be how they implement it. Currently you use the same shards at a higher cost for an increased chance at champs you want. Titan crystals would give you a more guaranteed chance at a champ you want because they won’t be pulling basic pool champs in, but since it would be a different currency the question is the rate at which one could stockpile it for champ releases.
What would be cool is if they did a store trade in where you could trade X 7* for X titan shards, either at a 1:1 ratio or whatever ratio fits with a potential cost increase in line with the current basic:featured ratio. This would give players an opportunity to make the choice they want for their account without having to necessarily worry about saving up multiple currencies or being shorted on a pool of champs they are more interested in.

I did. New champs enter titan crystal. Get titan shards by duping 7* shards. Sure new champs will probably be in paragon shards but it's no different then it is now with Cavs.

I agree - but also want to point out it's a shrewd move to slow down acquisition of 7* overall, which I don't mind. I think after the 6* explosion they have decided to go this way.

I also think it's very good there is no champ overlap.

Titan crystals are only for the rich, lol. This is a dumb and annoying change just furthering the gap between top spenders and the rest of us.

I think it's a bad thing. I'm not talking for the start because it won't affect that much ( because of the availability of 7* shards ) but in the future when you want to target a new 7* champion, you need to dupe so many 7* champions to buy 1 titan crystal and hope to get that champion.

For 6* we hoard our shards 1-3 months and target 6 of them together, we have so much higher chance to target one of those character.

Also they said something about updating 7* pool after 7* titan crystal expires and new one comes if I didn't get that wrong. That means in unknown amounth of time we will wait titan crystal.After that we will wait first titan crystals duration ( maybe a month maybe 3 months ) and only after that we will see 7* basic pool updated. That means at least 6-7 months we won't see any updates to basic pool.

Basically to me, only to me ;
7* Frame, Shards Update : Huge W, that was love at first sight
7* Pool : Meh, neither L nor W but I would expect to see at least 1 common champion everyone uses ( doom,kitty,claire,red hulk, etc. , 1 champion wouldn't "break" the game )
7* Stat Focus Mechanic : Huge W
15k Cost : If they keep their words about increasing the shards we get, it's neither L nor W but I don't think they will be able to so I want to call this one L

Personally, I think it’s still too early to pass any real judgment on titan crystals. We won’t really know how it’ll all play out until it’s implemented in game. Since titan shards will come from duping 7* champs, and they’ve stated they plan to increase the rate at which players can acquire 7* shards, then we have to wait until these changes are implemented to see how it actually affects the acquisition of titan crystals.

There is a reason for that change. Changes mean more time and more money invested. They can only justify something like that if there is a return of that investment. Either by more money or more engage customers that buy more.

In mi opinion that new currency means, we can sell it and make the "new champions" less accesible, more exclusive, which means you have to pay for them. I can't find really any other justification for a change like this,

That new currency will be in $ offers and if you want to have way better chances at a new Champion you have to pay for it. It is a huge change, and in my opinion is pretty much the end for not HUGE spenders to acquire new champions in a way that does not involve winning the lotto. This game is just Marvel Casino of Champions.

Keep in mind that you got nothing but iso for like the first 4 years of 6*s existence when you duped them. It was only recently when kabam had duping 6*s actually give 6* shards (later updated to 7* shards), so instead of having duping 7*s just give iso, they're giving out titan shards too.

Previously, you got nothing for Dups from new Rarities because there was no Rarity higher up. Now they've implemented something before they're introduced. It's a good thing overall.

Feels like it'll be harder to acquire "featured" champs as 7 stars compared to the featured system we have for 5 and 6 stars currently, since you'd be required to dupe 7 stars for a chance at getting them as opposed to duping 6 stars.

Actually they are removing the choice, and if you want the choice you had with 6* and 5* you will have to pay for that. That's what it is, and we will see it.

How is that not a downgrade compared to what we have now? Now u have to use already hard to get 7* shards to dupe basic champion 55 times to get chance at 1 champion from featured “titan” crystal instead of opening 30 featured from a get go. How can even a question come in to mind that thats not a downgrade?

This is ultimately bad for players.

It's simply a way for Kabam to gatekeep specific champions.

We will need to dupe champions in the base pool in order to get titan shards - so we can no longer horde for the featured crystal. This immediately reduces the amount of "featured"/ "titan" crystals we can open.

"There's NO overlap!" - Presented to us as some amazing thing, but their follow-up phrasing was chosen very carefully. "Titan champions MAY get introduced into the base pool..." "New champions will...most of the time.." so, they may also just sit in the titan pool forever, further emphasizing that there's now a defined class of champions.

This is a GOOD change IMO. First of all, you get more 7 stars by duping 7 stars. Second, this system will get you god tier champs pretty hard, but that s a good thing, this will make the progress of getting the 6 stars irrelevant way slower.

I think this is a new and interesting change. It helps to keep people on acquiring and duping 6* to get 7* shards as well as from other content. As well as it allows for you to get shards an easier but slower way for titan crystals that will hold the featured champs. The only downside I see though is that getting featured champs is going to be a lot harder and in the beginning it is going to require a lot of waiting for the rotation into basic

It's not good.

They found a new mechanism to separate the basic and new / features pool, but this time those titan shards are going to be very difficult or expen$ive to get.

In other words you are going to see Doom or Nimrod as a 7 any time soon unless you pay, so keep ranking up those 6s.
