If every 7 star shard reward was multiplied by 1.5 across the board, was the initial yield of 7* shards for 8.2 completion going to be 666.66?

Exactly I feel as though they were capping about that to justify the 15k price. I'm not a fan of it being 15k shards especially since there's only 4k up for grabs

Funny but true. If 7 stars would cost 10k shards we would earn 666 shards for completion. Thanks god it cost 15k.

they said here that if the rewards for some content were to be, say, 5000 6* shards,
then any comparable content rewarding 7* shards wouldn’t give 5,000, but would instead give 7,500.

this means:

5,000 6* shards towards a 10,000 shard 6* crystal
7,500 7* shards towards a 15,000 shard 7* crystal

either way, it’s 1/2 a full crystal as reward.

What is probably the case is the original idea was 500 for completion and they upped it to 1000 because 750 isn't a cool number.

How isn't 750 a cool number? Divides 15,000 cleanly, and is divisible by 10.

Not to mention that 500 shards is a pittance, and there's no way they slapped an extra 50% on to the rewards over the "coolness" of the number.
