With minimal spending about 2500 units (which I already had), re investing all earned units into paragon crystals you should be able to reach about 32,000 points (depending on how many 7* shards you initially had). One of the best bang for buck events we’ve ever had And that’s excluding any rewards we can get to boost points from the shooting stars event.
There was a lot of hype. Kabam hyped it up. We hyped ourselves up. And then all we get is a whale event like we have never seen before. Not even an event where casual spenders or F2P could get some rewards they wanted while heavy spending gets a lot more. It was effectively nothing unless you spend A LOT. Not even a spend $10 and get some decent rewards thing.
So I do have to agree, it was a lost opportunity to make this a memorable event in the game’s history. There could have been so much more done.
Maybe a side quest that only allows 7-stars. Maybe a special arena that has massive points for 7-star champs. Maybe some objective that has a profile pic or title that states, “I got a 7-star champion on release day.” Maybe some objectives that require us to duel a 7-star champion. All of these could just award 6-star shards/stones. Kabam has been throwing those around like candy anyways.
But as it was, I just opened two crystals, got my relic reward I don’t care about, and that was that. Yay?
Hype from Kabam is not the phrase I'd use. There was a severe lack of information from yesterday.
They posted hints and teasers of the champ pool on social media.
They had an hour+ long live stream that spent the bulk of the live stream talking exclusively about 7-stars.
There is a sticky banner up top that says: “ 7-Star Launch Day: Summoners! Today is the day! We are expecting today to be our biggest Crystal opening day EVER!” Can you name another event that a banner was placed that did not relate to bugs or game issues?
Posts about 7-stars were popping up on the forums. The crystal opening thread was created more than a day before they released.
So tell me again that this was not hyped and just another run of the mill thing.
7* opening day day was, not the events or anything else that came along with opening 7*'s. Really, it's just a build up from November of last year. We knew we'd be able to open them, we just wanted to know the pool of champs. I would say the hype was built around just the introduction of 7*'s and not really hyping the day we could open them.
There hasn't really been a mass opening like yesterday. We didn't have as many openings with 6*'s. With being able to open Paragon crystals and 7* crystals, the banner was needed.
I don’t know what you’re trying to argue anymore.
My point is that 5/8 was a significant day in MCOC history. Kabam did a lot of work and communicating about this day.
My argument is that this would be a perfect day to celebrate the community. Or even renew waning interest.
Instead, we just got an event that only catered to big spenders. Zilch for F2P, zilch for casual spenders. For the bulk of the player base, it was just a normal day outside of the 30 seconds it took to open crystals.
I believe it was a missed opportunity for Kabam. I’m not interested in arguing about whether something was hyped or not. Even if it wasn’t hyped, this was still a monumental day for the game that came and went without much interest.
Everyone gets to participate in the alliance and solo events. If you had one 7* to open, you get points and you can get some easy tiers in the events.
Even so, why can't they celebrate spenders? Every event in this game is built for all different players but this one time when spenders have a bigger advantage, it's a problem? You are not wrong but are not R ght at the same time, there are a lot of non-spending events and there's the big 3 of cyber weekend, spring cleaning and July 4th. The other events that aren't as heavy spending are very nice aren't they I mean they give you t5 cc not t6, they give you t5 basics not t6, essentially what I'm saying is the big chase rewards only tear Thier heads I. Hug chunks when the whales and spenders can take advantage of them if they where available Like say in fragments during the lesser spending or non spending events well then that would equalise things in my eyes but 4t6 selectors and 2 6 star relics is crazy i spend most of my time in battle grounds and I still don't have a 6 star relic even tho that's the major place to find one. I agree this "event" was to be special but kabam missed.
They had a Full Live stream.. they created a big hype.. Then they forgot to tell players they needed to stay in an alliance for an X ammount of days to participate in the Alliance event...basically they copy paste the Banquet and Gifting event but forgot to notify players... Now there are different stories about players being able to claim past milestones and others who couldnt. The mods are in complete radio silence about this issue... The only time they had an answer was this..
No real answers about the event milestones really, just a concern about people exploiting something that wasn't even announced... Yeah pretty poor execution.

That was the answer. You know how much Alliance-hopping and complaints about being kicked would come if not?

Every event since Xmas banquet has had T6CC in it. It's just going to become more available because they want to keep 6*'s as the meta for a while longer while people acclimate to 7*'s and develop better rosters.

This is a major launch. Not a Gifting Event.
Which is why they should have dotted every i and cross every t... And by major u mean copy pastimg the same event? 🤣... U r really trying for that forum guardian program... The biggest launch in years.. a big major one.. had no announcent on the event... Yeah makes total sense
What?
Say you used 2600 units and bought 13 Paragon crystals.
That is 10,400 points. Enough for a relic crystal and 2500 7-star shards.
Then you need to open 2 7-stars for 2 more paragon freebies. Now you’re at 17,000.
You need to open 5 more 7-star crystals to get to 32,000.
The problem is, you needed 92,500 7-star shards to achieve that. Which is 336 6-star dupes.

I won't call the entire launch of 7*s a swing and miss until I see the actual quest later today. Maybe that swings things around. Even if it doesn't, I don't really have any problems with the launch itself. It's just the event itself that is so whale-focused.
When it comes to the issue of it being mostly for Paragon players, well, that's just kind of how things are going to go. There's nothing stopping people in lower tiers from opening 7*s if they have the crystals, but Paragon crystals are Paragon crystals. Putting aside their relevance for this particular event and how they lock people of other progression tiers out of the event, I think it's reasonable that they are exclusive for Paragon players.
That said, as a Paragon player, I can say that those Paragon crystals hardly change a thing in the grand scheme of things of this event. You really need to whale out on them in order to get somewhere. I spent 2K units on them and still only reached the fourth reward. The number of units you need to put down to get anywhere is insane, let along the very highest tiers.
I wish there had been a more interactive element to the event. Maybe earn points by using your 7*s to clear paths in the upcoming quest? That could also have been a way to welcome in non-Paragon players into the event. Assuming they had the 7*s themselves, there'd be a way to earn points without buying Paragon crystals.
As it stands, it all does feel a bit demoralizing. I don't expect to reach the very top rewards without spending a dime, but having a hard time even reaching 20% there just feels rough. The event would have been much more fun if non/low-spenders could reach maybe 12 out of 18 tiers, similar to how the Banquet event was structured. The biggest rewards could still have been locked behind the current paywall - just distribute the others more broadly (like the units - which whale is going to care about them anyway?).

I really don't know why you always try to defend Kabam even if you know they are in the wrong
With the new mantra of “if you ain’t paragon you ain’t worth it” Kabam seems to be banking on the small percentage of whales and paragons and forgetting the majority players who are TB, cavalier, etc. the headlines are filled with companies who catered to the wrong group and they paid for it. Seems Kabam heading down the same path. Expect same results.
It's no longer just about being paragon They are short listing the whales from the Paragons now

Everything in this game is dedicated to every progressional tier. I'm not sure how one quest that is locked to the Paragon title all the sudden becomes the "new mantra".
It completely gears 7* acquisition and upgrade to paragon only. It creates a huge gap at this level. It’s not a “7* celebration” it’s a paragon 7* celebration. My belief and feeling on this. It’s ok. I just think it was executed poorly and exclusive of a huge portion of players.

I don't but believe what you want. I already said somewhere in this thread that they should have told us about these events. There's a million threads on whether someone will qualify or not and telling us so people don't leave alliances would have been good. War is in off-season and AQ just ended so people are making moves. Knowing this would be an alliance event you have to be in an alliance for a set amount of time would have been good to know.

There's already a huge gap at that level. Stop trying to compete with everyone else. Cav's and TB's don't need 7*'s. Anything they have to take on, 6* R2's and3's do just fine. I'd argue that nothing in this game needs 7*'s to complete except for today's quest.
If you want those top tier things, become Paragon.

Also, again. If you arent doing paragon content, you dont need to care about 7* jus yet. With 7* the game economy will shift slowly and be more geared towards to 7* in the future, including rank up mats. You can always catch up later. If you feel so strongly about it, the answer is quite simple.... become paragon.
I’m not seeing a swing and miss. The quest today hasn’t been released yet and if you were just waiting to open them, you got the experience of opening them. The event itself is mainly for spending which really isn’t surprised. Not sure what people are wanting
I am Paragon and am happy with my results. This is only day 2 of our new 7-star experience, so maybe let's just take a deep breath. As with all new things in MCOC, they will be hard to acquire for a while, and then they will start opening them up to other progression levels.
That this was a "cash grab" should be no surprise. Kabam monetizes content for one simple reason: to pay the bills, to grow as a business, and to further develop the game. This will never change. It is called a business model and any business that wants to remain in business must have some sort of model for sustainability.
Was this the perfect design? Prolly not, but anything they did would leave some people unhappy. It is our nature.
develop the game? yeah right. we see them do that.

There's 2 big spend events a year with many of non spend events in-between. Let them have this. They keep this game running.
Only issue with this is, It's heavily incentivising spending, huge spending but not just that it's targeted towards only paragon spenders. So it's quite literally an event only targeted at the top 1%. I had units galore and grinded all arena milestones and eq and still barely made a dent. But I'm not overly bothered personally. Spending is one thing, milestone progression is another, but combining the two to pander to 1% if the playerbase. More accurately probably <1%, is crazy.
This 100%. If you're not paragon, it most likely means you still need to, either develop your roster, or complete certain content. A 7* would destroy content like act 6 & 7, it would undermine the whole progression system we currently have.
Not every content is for every progression. You're not supposed to stay a Cavalier or Thronebreaker forever, if you want Paragon rewards, you need to be paragon.
The events target paragon players, the higher echelons within Paragon will benefit more, yes, that has always been the way of things. The more you invest in the game (be it time or money) the more rewards you get, this hasn't changed in the 7 years I've been playing and I don't see it changing anytime soon.
I've said this plenty of times, don't expect the highest rewards available if you don't dedicate the proportional amount of time/resources.
This communist way of thinking that everybody deserves the same, no matter the effort, needs to stop.
You know how much Alliance-hopping and complaints about being kicked would come if not?
.. rofl that was the answer?.. so they can announce it on Gifting and Banquet but not on this?... I know u r pro Kabam but u can't possibly be defending this....
It's not the same Event, really.
Are u even Paragon yet? Cause its a Paragon only event...

And that’s excluding any rewards we can get to boost points from the shooting stars event.

Doesn’t add up.
They are short listing the whales from the Paragons now
If you want those top tier things, become Paragon.
