7* alliance event blackout period

I changed my alliance when the event still had 10 days to be finished. To my surprise, the game says I cannot participate because I joined too late. After reaching out to Kabam, support replies with the official blackout period article which *doesn't* tell about such long period. Their justification is that some events might have longer periods. Not clearly communicating such requirements is an exploit equal to the players that manipulate the game because in the end it affects honest players as well. My right to participate is the event is being taken and support doesn't have any empathy.
