Android and ios payment for shopping

Am i the inky one that noticed that the prices went up for android users where we have to pay 4.99 for the paragon daily we now have to pay 5.49. The ios users still pay 4.99.

For the 3100 units the ios users pay 99.99 and the android users pay now 109.99. This was set the same but kabam has decided that android users have to pay more for the same items.

Kabam does not have a saying in the pricing. It's up to Google and Apple

Very strange if that is so. It is kabam that put the prices in their game not google or apple

See the big main thread about this.

I'm fairly certain there is code in place that automatically updates the prices in the unit store which are set by Google and Apple. So no, Kabam does NOT set the prices

The way that both the Apple app store and the Google play store work for in-app purchases like this is that app developers like Kabam set what is called the item tier code for the purchase. There is a chart that specifies what this tier code will be priced in the US, and this is pretty static. A tier 12 item will always cost the same amount in the US. However, everywhere else in the world a tier 12 item will be priced based on what Apple or Google decide a tier 12 item will cost in that region, based on things like currency exchange rate, cost to do business in that area, and other factors. Kabam has no say in what an tier 12 item costs.

This comes up often enough that I explained all of this in detail a few years ago when conspiracy theories about price manipulation were floating around: https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/259626/psa-how-app-store-prices-work/p1

Since tier prices in US are fixed, it is safe to say that app developers like Kabam set the prices of their items in the US. However, everywhere else it is the app stores that set the prices, not the app developer.
