QS, BP, Gullly2099, and Toad all have a lot of very good uses without the absolute need to awaken them or invest sigs. Cosmic ghost rider is just generally great, but even better with awakening.

So many choices:

Hulkbuster, Quicksilver, Elsa Bloodstone, Spider Man Miles Morales, Crossbones, Emma Frost, Toad , White Magneto, Guillotine 2099 will all be great addition to the roster. They either counter certain nodes, are consistent battleground champs or provide a unique ability that is worth exploring. Moreover, they all get much stronger after awakening but can do well without it too.
