Dexing out of a special

Why all of a sudden can I no longer dex out of a special? I block the first hit of a multi hit special because of the laggy inputs, that means no matter how much I swipe I now have to block or take the entire 5-10 hit special. It's getting annoying. Yet if I drop the block entirely I'll still take the hit to the face, seems intentional.

    I have to take entire quicksilver specials blocked, cable, warmachine etc, the big multihit ones, you either block the entirety while trying to dex or end up taking the special to.the face because it just registers a dropped block.
