Is it even worth it

I have quite a few good 6*s but generally not a great enough pool to draw from exclusively when performing a generic story or monthly quest, meaning I still have to rely on 5*s, the only issue with this is that at the Thronebreaker stage in the game one glaring issue with 5*s is that their block proficiency and health pools in general are flaming garbage, or at least too restrictive for a person of my skill level, and you can easily be stripped of 10-20% flat health from a blocked combo. Is it worth at this point to invest anything into 5*’s or is it time to put major steps into putting them into retirement

There’s loads of 6* availability from MEQ, Side Events, Battlegrounds. You often hear there’s no content in the game that 5* can’t complete. And yes that’s strictly true, why would you need to put yourself through that if you don’t have to. If you’re at Thronebreaker level, I’d be focusing on 6* unless you pull 5* Herc

I'm in the same boat, but it definitely depends on your roster. For me personally, I have great champions of every class as 6*s except Cosmic and Mutant so I still often use my 5* Herc and Kitty. Plus I don't have great evade counters or power drain 6*s so I use Quicksilver and iDoom as 5*s. If your 6*s can take the vast majority of content, definitely go for them. The Adrenaline healing makes their survivability just that much better and helps you score better in Battlegrounds. If you still need some 5*s or just like playing them, it's not the worst decision to just take them up.

It depends. On my alt that just got cavalier, I r5d my 5* scorpion. I'm also ranking up my Hood because he's very good and I have a 6r3 kingpin. As I said it depends on what you need.

Still using my 5* Cable for Apoc synergy and he’s good for at least 1-2 defenders on TB EQ paths while Apoc heals up. Also occasionally drop in a pair of Warlocks, Torches, AAs or Mags (as well as others) in Act 8 for a safety net on certain paths.

I still use 5* in Act 8. Just completed 8.2.2 path with 5* longshot. 5* are useful when you need a certain champ but dont have them as 6*.

5* is still relevant unless you can max sig certain champs as 6* which is hard for me to do. I still use 5* Void because my 6* isn’t duped yet for AW Gorr and Absorbing Man. 5* Doom, AA, white Mags, Torch, Namor are all useful for me and I had been Paragon for over 5 months.
Although I am slowly transitioning into 6* now that I have at least 4 rank 3s in each class. However, I am sacrificing my sig stone focus in BG store to get more 6* shards now that 7* are in play.

I'm a Paragon, explored Act 7 Fully, Explored 8.1 fully, did my first run through of 8.2 a few weeks back. Still used 5*s in certain scenarios there. So I'd say you don't NEED to retire them, just be smart with who you take up, if it's a choice between having a gap in your roster filled with nothing or with a specific 5 star that's relatively easily high sigged, I think the choice is an easy one
