PSA: Cable is actually a pretty decent poison counter (in certain situations)

As I was working my way through the Mutant quest of TBEQ, I came upon a fight against iBom. I didn't really have any poison immune champions on my team which normally would have left me a bit worried. However, this time I decided that it was a good opportunity to test out an ability in Cable's kit that I've never gotten a good use out of previously.
The thing is, he reduces the duration of future poisons by 20% for every poison triggered on him. When that duration eventually reaches 0, he gains a 50% bonus to his special attack damage.
I've always thought that this was a pretty useless skill since you need to trigger a bunch of poisons for it to become really valuable. It's a rare sight where you're inflicted with a poison somewhere and think, I can tank four more of those before I need them to stop. However, iBom's individual poisons aren't really the problem. They are quite survivable on their own. It's only when they start stacking up that they start causing problems, and especially when his Acid Burns trigger at 10 poisons.
But with Cable, you'll never get that many poisons on you. Their duration will be reduced to 0 well before that.
I fought iBom and got through that fight pretty easily, actually. It certainly helped that I had White Magneto on the team (they have a synergy where Cable gets 60% poison resistance), but I think I could have gotten through the fight just as well without him just by slow-playing things a bit. Now, I just bulldozed iBom in order for him to throw his SP2, which quickly started placing poisons on me. That made for a quick video but may not be the best play out in the wild.

This got me thinking, which other champions have similar mechanics? Well, there's always Toad. So I tried fighting Toad. Unfortunately, I don't know where a handy Toad is in the game for me to try my hand against, but I own the champion myself so off to Practice Mode I went. Turns out, Cable can get through that fight easily as well. Since it was a practice fight, there weren't any helpful synergies present.
Within 20 seconds, Cable has reached maximum duration reduction and Toad becomes a noodle. In addition, it seemed to me that Toad didn't trigger the prowess effects that are usually triggered when someone is immune to his paralytic poisons. The fight was over a bit too quickly for me to really check that, but if true, it's probably due to Cable not being outright immune to the poisons but rather them simply having 0 duration on him. I just thought that was a cool little piece of hidden utility.

So if you ever need to fight someone who places a fair amount of poisons on you that don't deal an enormous amount of damage individually, Cable might actually be your guy. Especially with Apocalypse and White Mags on the team.
