Matchmaking ridiculousness in BGs

This BG season has been a struggle for me. At one point, despite having two dozen champs at 6r4 or 7r1, I had a massive losing streak. Other times I just bounced around collecting daily objectives.

I made platinum before the daily objectives reset. I figured I’d keep grinding once the new objectives dropped.

I won 5 straight, then lost one. Then I won 13 in a row, dropped one with a victory shield, and won my last match to reach gladiator circuit.

Most of my Diamond and platinum matches had a substantial number of 5-stars in their deck. Many refused to fight. Some outright forfeited.

I know there’s been a lot of talk about what this should look like, but I don’t think either half of the victory track should look like mine did. And for the people that got matched with me with their 5-star rosters, you did a damn good job getting where you did. Sorry about the matchup.

I hope this can be smoothed out more in future seasons, because I saw ten rosters today that were weaker than the weakest roster I saw in the first 19 days of the season.

I had the same concern. I always make it to GC and then stop, and I got there so quickly this time. I'm worried that the cav and uncollected players will stop playing eventually, which will then make it harder for me to progress (I don't have the greatest skills, but have completed all Carina challenges except LoL).

With that being said, if the lower accounts keep playing because the rewards are good, then 👍.

It's definitely an improvement since last Season. I'm losing patience, though. I'm still TB. Not the worst Roster, but not the best. I don't even pay attention anymore unless it's a completely stacked Roster. Then I just Forfeit. I've had lower Rosters beat me, and I've beaten larger.
It's the AI and the Masochism that gets to me. It's been a slog. Tonight I was one away from D1, then went back to none. Been stuck there for days. There seems to he a large number of fairly skilled (or perhaps lucky) Players I'm matching with.
Overall, I'm glad I improved since last Season. I'm just frustrated with the sudden impass I'm at. Has to happen eventually I guess.
One thing is for sure, it's certainly motivating. When I'm not saying words I can't repeat here. Hahaha.

I mean, if those low accounts are making it all the way to Plat and Diamond, I guess I'm kinda confused what the issue is.

The whole point of the game is to progress your titles and roster, seems kinda weird people expect to be UC or Cav and make it into the Glad Circuit, one of the most competitive game mode that isnt gated by progression.

Not to be rude or anything, but what is it about Masochism that gets you? It's definitely not the easiest node, but I think it's fairly mild. Just learning to reparry and bait heavies consistently is usually enough to work around it, and even debuff heavy fights can often be taken down quickly. I imagine there's some strategy you could try that could help, but getting to D1 is still an accomplishment, even if it is your cap.

It's more of a hindrance than anything. Parry is a natural reflex for me, but I can adapt to Intercept. More annoying is when the Opponent has Suicides running and it just keeps triggering.
Any Regen is a pain when you have a couple minutes to do as much Damage as you can. It just magnifies the whole feeling of two steps forward, one step back.
I suppose my play style is Debuff-reliant as well. It's been a good thing in terms of who I place for Defense.
